The law is to be abided by everyone regardless of one’s status in society. In order to protect people and punish the wrongdoers the law had been made. With fame comes a sense of responsibility to guide the population toward the ideal but some celebrities astray from their goal and commit unexpected crimes. These crimes have ruined their careers and fanbase enough to put them behind bars. The glamorous seem to hide faces that are not so innocent hence losing their fanbase. Below are some Thai celebrities who committed heinous crimes and got arrested.
1. Ratchadech Wongtabut
The twenty four year-old Thai model, Ratchadech got arrested for abducting ‘pretty’ model Lunlabelle. The model was charged of abduction with intention to commit an indecent act. The model was spotted carrying the victim unconscious to his hotel room and then was dumped dead on the lobby hall later. He also bragged about exploiting her sexually on social media and was arrested for his behavior.
2. Toy Thanapat
Actor Toy Thanapat stabbed his girlfriend over twenty times over a dispute over possession of the knife. The actor later confessed that he had killed his twenty five year old in rage. They were fighting over Toy’s career, and as he was about to leave the apartment and they fought continuously. Eventually, he stabbed her in a blind rage over twenty times and was at a state of panic in the crime scene.
3. Amy Thidawanon
Thailand’s former miss teen was sentenced to thirty three years in jail for a drug case. The police found the Thai-Dutch actress guilty of possessing seventy gram of crystal methamphetamine, a weighing scale, and sixteen ecstasy pills. A rehabilitation program was ordered by court.
4. Chatchaya Ramos ''Yuyee''
The court sentenced Thai model Yuyee to fifteen years in jail as she was guilty of smuggling cocaine into the country. At the Don Mueang International Airport, the authorities found two hundred and fifty eight milligram of cocaine in the model’s suitcase. The model had to pay a fine as well.
5. Joyce Triumph Kingdoms
Back in 2004, famous young Thai singer, Joyce was arrested for possessing “yaba” amphetamine tables to sell them. The court sentenced her to eight years and one month in prison. She was released in 2013 after completing her charge.
6. Pat Powerpat
Once a rising star in 2004, Thai celebrity Pat was arrested for possessing drugs. The drugs included ecstasy tablets, four bottles of ketamine, and a bag full of marijuana. He had them to sell and for personal use. The court sentenced him to forty two years in prison.
7. Jiratpisit “Boom” Jaravijit
The Thai actor Boom got arrested for conning a Finnish man into transferring THB797 million in bitcoin. The actor had falsely promised the foreigner that they would start a digital currency business together. The actor denied the charges but has been denied bail by the court.
8. Namfon Kullanut
In 1997, Thai actress Namfon Kullanut failed a urine test. After the incident, she explained in tears that her drink was intoxicated by her friend with ecstasy and that she didn’t consume it willingly. The court dismissed her case.
9. Thanat Thanawatcharanont
The Thai actor Thanat was arrested and sentenced to jail for seven years and six months. The actor was imprisoned for making an anti-monarchist speech during a protest. It was reported by the Thai media. The sentence was later halved as he confessed of guilty of his charges.
10. Seksan “Sek Loso” Sukpimai
The popular Thai rock star, Sek Loso was jailed for consuming drugs. The singer has confessed and posted a picture of himself on social media while having “ice.” He was sent to rehabilitation and redeemed his image after the completion of his sentence.
