Number one on the list is Jennie from Blackpink. She debuted on August 8, 2016, as a member of the girl group Blackpink. Recently, she also debuted in an HBO TV series, “Idol”. Over the years, Jennie has always been under fire for different reasons. Sometimes she gets criticized for getting better outfits than the other members, sometimes she is been called a “lazy dancer,” and sometimes, she gets caught up in dating rumors.
2. IU
IU is a soloist, singer, and actress. She debuted as a soloist in 2008 and actress in 2011 through the drama “ Dream High.” IU is considered the most talented and respected singer in South Korea and also referred to as the “Nation’s Daughter.” But she was once caught in controversy and received a lot of unnecessary hate for being the ideal type of BTS’s Jungkook. Some toxic fans started to hate her and went as far as leaving hate comments on her posts.
3. Cha Eun Woo (Astro)
Cha Eun Woo is a singer and actor. He debuted as a member of the boy band Astro on February 23, 2016, and debuted as an actor in 2014. He has always been hated for being the most famous member of the group. As ridiculous as it sounds, he is always been labeled as the least talented member. Haters also say that he got his acting role and place in the group just because of the “pretty privilege.”

Although these are some silly reasons, the stupidest reason for which she got hate was when she cried at SHINee Jonghyun’s funeral. As her popularity rose, people started digging out her past and found some old photos with tattoos. Then she got hate for showing off her tattoos on social media. That went to an extent where So Hee’s friend released a statement stating on the line that it is okay when a male actor does it but not when an actress does it, and also stated that those pictures of So Hee were when she was a model.
6. Jang Geun Suk
South Korea is infamously known for people’s obsession with their looks and weight. And if you are a celebrity and gain even the slightest bit of weight, people will quickly comment and remind you about your weight gain. Actor Jang Guen Suk was once caught up in such a situation. Haters and media outlets started criticizing him for his weight gain and his changed appearance.
7. Kang Dong Won
Kang Dong Won is a South Korean actor who debuted in 2005. Gong Won is always been praised for his charming visuals from the beginning of his career. As he has also worked as a model for many luxury brands and has walked the ramp for the Soul Fashion Artist Association, his looks and his dressing sense are something with which he has always attracted people. But when he attended a press conference for his movie Peninsula, he got criticized for looking old and dressing up as a “middle-aged man.” As of 2023, he is 42 years old, and the criticism he received does not make sense. After knowing this, he released a statement saying, “My face was bloated that day and my condition was not great either. Now that I am older, I have my good and bad days.”

Twice is one of the most famous and successful K-pop girl groups, which was made by JYP in the survival show Sixteen. After training for five years, Jeongyeon debuted in the group. As stated earlier, weight is something that is a huge issue in South Korean society. When Jeongyeon gained weight, people started to attack her with hate comments. The haters fatt shamed her and said that her dance moves looked lazy after she gained weight. She had also taken a hiatus twice for panic and anxiety.
10. Chen (EXO)
Kim Jong Dae, who goes by the stage name Chen, is the vocalist of K-pop boy band EXO. He was formally introduced as a group member on December 29, 2011. In the South Korean entertainment industry, especially K-Pop, getting married is equal to committing a sin, which is very weird. Chen got hated for marrying and for having kids. Haters were so outraised by that, they started protesting outside the SM’s building, demanding to kick him out of the group.
