Korean dramas are mostly sixteen episodes, as some K-dramas are so mind-blowing that people wish that, there should be more episodes. As more episodes mean, the execution of the plot and people getting to see their favorite character increases the excitement of the drama and the audience.
1. Happiness
Happiness describes the story of Yoon Sae-bom, a unit trainer. She wants to buy her dream apartment, and her childhood friend, Jung Yi Hyun, helps. They get married and move into the new apartment. Unti in their apartment complex, a virus starts to spread, so the government quarantines their whole apartment complex. It has only twelve episodes, and the ending was rushed as it could get better.
2. Hotel Del Luna
Hotel del Luna is a fantasy K-drama about a spirit, Jang Man-wol, who gets punished for her crimes and cannot go to the afterlife. She is the CEO of the Del Luna Hotel, where the spirit goes after they pass away. One day, a thief tried to steal something when she caught him, and he promised that his son, Gao Chan-seong, would serve her after turning twenty-one. There are sixteen episodes, and the ending introduces a new owner of the hotel, so people are waiting for it to continue.
3. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo
This drama is of twenty episodes, but the ending was not something people still have accepted. Go Ha Jin was transported back 1000-year-old dynasty. She wakes up in the body of a 16-year-old girl, Hae Soo. She befriends a lot of princes and many fall in love with her while she struggles to fit into a society she has never known.
4. Reply Series
Reply 1988, Reply 1994, and Reply 1997 are the core of the Korean drama industry. Even though there are three seasons, people still want to have more because the purpose this show serves is much needed in this era. The importance of friendship and adulthood is beautifully shown in these three dramas.
5. Goblin
Goblin is the IT drama of 2016 that introduced the audience to the world of Goblin and Grim Reaper. Goblin has the curse that he cannot die but has to see his loved one die in front of him. He can only die if Goblin’s bride pulls the sword from his chest that only she can see. Ji Eun-tak, a girl who can see ghosts, is his bride. There are sixteen episodes, but people never want it to end.
6. Signal
Signal is one of the gems of K-drama. Fifteen years ago, a girl was kidnapped, and Park Hae Yeong witnessed it. The police found her dead body but not the culprit and Hae Yeong starts to distrust the police. Now, fifteen years later, he is a police officer, and one day, his walkie-talkie gets connected to a detective, Lee Jae Han, who is in the past. It has sixteen episodes, and more would be incredible.
7. Boys Over Flowers
Boys Over Flowers, the every teenager crush drama of 2009 with twenty-five episodes, will never be forgotten, and people wish to see it more. Geum Jan-di attends a high-end school, but as she comes from an average family, she doesn’t fit there. She meets Gu Jun-pyo, the leader of the four-member rich boy group. They love to bully people until Geum Han-di stands against him and the group.
8. Squid Game
Squid Game, the blockbuster drama that has made people sleep at night, flew away. Even though there are nine episodes, the story of the drama is something very different as it takes time to get to see it, but it’s fun. About 55 players dealing with financial crises join a children's game, and whoever wins will get a cash prize. But they don't know that if it’s game over in the game, it’s also game over in their real life.
9. My Name
My Name describes the story of Yoon Ji-woo, whose father dies suddenly. Now, she wants to take revenge on whoever was involved in the death of her father case. She joins a drug gang and tries to uncover the truth. Then she joins a police department, and with Detective Jeon Pil-do works on a drug investigation. There are eight episodes.
10. Strangers From Hell
Strangers From Hell describes the story of Yoon Jong Woo, a young boy who moves to Seoul for a job. He finds a place, Eden Gosiwon, a cheap hotel where all the residents have to share a bathroom and kitchen. He was not thrilled, but to save money, he had to live there. But when mysterious things happen in the hostel, he fears his neighbors. There are ten episodes, but such a thrilling drama deserves more.
