10. Astro

Fantagio's rookie talent development programme, Fantagio iTeen, referred Astro's members as "iTeen Boys" while they were training. In August 2015, they starred in a web drama series called To Be Continued. The members starred in the web drama along with Kim Sae-ron, Seo Kang-joon, and Hello Venus. Members of the group include MJ, Jinjin, Cha Eun-woo, Moon Bin, and Yoon San-ha. Hide & Seek" was their first song off their debut EP Spring Up, and Billboard selected them as one of the finest new K-pop groups of the year. "AROHA" is ASTRO's fandom's name, and the band members themselves picked it.

 

9. Got 7

Jay B, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom are the seven members of the group under JYP Entertainment. They debuted in January 2014 with their first EP: “Got It?”. GOT7’s fans are officially known as Ahgase or I Got7. As of November 4, 2019, the group released their ninth extended play, Call My Name. On Billboard’s World Albums list, the EP ranked No. 5; it also topped the Gaon Weekly Chart and the Hanteo Weekly Chart in South Korea, respectively. Got7 in total won 54 awards.

 

8. Seventeen 

In 2015 Pledis Entertainment created the South Korean boy band SEVENTEEN (or SVT). S.Coups, Vernon, Joshua, Wonwoo, Jeonghan, Woozi, Mingyu, The8, Jun, Seungkwan, Hoshi, DK, and Dino are the thirteen members of this band. While the whole group acts as a single unit, the members are separated into three sub-units, each with its own specialities, such as the hip hop unit, vocal unit, and performance unit. 13 unique members from 3 distinct groups (hip-hop, singing, and performance)  come together to form a single group, hence the name “Seventeen.” Seventeen has produced three studio albums and 10 extended plays since its inception. Seventeen has won 57 awards, and their fandom name is CARAT. They’ve also won several prizes for choreography and dancing. Seventeen's debut single “Don’t Wanna Cry” became one of the group's most successful tunes. The music video became the group's first music video to reach 200 million-plus views on YouTube.

7. Red Velvet

A female group from South Korea, Red Velvet, was founded by SM Entertainment and is managed by the company. With the four-member line-up of Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, and Joy, they debuted on August 1, 2014. It was announced in March 2015 that the group would be expanding to five members after releasing their debut mini-album Ice Cream Cake. As a result, Red Velvet's music mirrors the group's name: their predominantly-pop "red" side explores with techno, funk, and hip hop on occasion, while their "velvet" side concentrates on '90s-influenced R&B comprising the elements of ballad and jazz as well. Seulgi and Irene are the first subunits of Red Velvet, according to SM Entertainment, which announced the news on April 21. Red Velvet - Irene & Seulgi's debut extended play, Monster, was released on July 6. Several honours for their music, performances, and effect have been awarded since then. Red Velvet has won 52 awards in total. The fans of Red Velvet are called ReVeluv.

 

6. Wanna One (disbanded)

Mnet's Produce 101 (season 2), which aired from April 7 to June 16, 2017, was the source of Wanna One's formation. In a live television broadcast, the final 11 trainees were selected from a group of 101 trainees from various agencies. The group consisted of 11 members. As of August 2017, Swing Entertainment and CJ E&M released the group's debut single. According to a statement published by Swing Entertainment in December 2018, the group's contract will expire on the original date set out. In addition, Swing said that the agencies reached an agreement to allow the members to attend scheduled year-end concerts and award ceremonies during January 2019. With the last concert, the group wrapped off its operations (titled Therefore 2019). As with their first performance, the concert took place at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. Wanna One has won total 49 awards. A total of sixteen commercials featuring Wanna One appeared in 2017. The fandom name chosen by the group is 'WANNABLE'.

 

5. Twice

Nine members make up the female group: Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Tzuyu, and Chaeyoung. Twice was developed as part of the television series Sixteen (2015) and made its debut in the year 2015, “The Story Begins”- an extended play (EP). The group is under JYP Entertainment. When Twice released their debut album Twicetagram and its lead song “Likey” in 2017, they became the first female Korean act to jointly top Billboard’s World Albums and World Digital Song Sales charts. For the first time in the history of female bands groups, Twice’s tenth extended play, Taste of Love, reached number one on the Billboard Top Album Sales list in 2021. On the Billboard 200 chart, it was the first EP by a girl group to reach the top 10. Twice won 108 awards. Twice’s official fandom name is ONCE.

 

4. NCT

NCT-NEO CULTURE TECHNOLOGY is under SM Entertainment with an unlimited member which means in future the new members can join this group. NCT members Taeyong and Jeno were the first trainees from SM Entertainment's pre-debut training team SM Rookies, to be revealed in December 2013.   A total of sixteen new members were added to the team until early January 2016, when it became the preparation for the Neo Culture Technology (NCT).   Johnny, Yuta, Ten, Mark, and Renjun were discovered through SM Global Auditions, while the other members got selected through roadside casting and community entertainment programmes, among other methods. The group has many subunits. As of the year 2020, the 23 members are Taeil, Doyung, Jaehyun, Taeyong, Ten, Mark, Yuta, Winwin, Haechan, Renjun, Jeno, Jaemin, Chenle, Jisung, Johnny, Jungwoo, Lucas, Kun, Xiojun, Hendery, Yangyang, Shotaro and Sungchan. Taeyong is the leader of NCT 2020 and NCT 127 (sub-unit). Kun is the leader of WayV (Chinese subunit). The fifth unit will launch in 2021, followed by NCT-Hollywood, its second foreign localised unit headquartered in the United States, in 2022. NCTzens (pronounced N-citizens) are NCT's fans, and the members lovingly refer to them as "Seasonies."

 

3. BLACKPINK

"Boombayah" and "Whistle" are two songs from BLACKPINK's first single: "Square One," which got released on August 8, 2016. BLACKPINK is the 3rd artist group that has been placed in the Billboard World Digital Sales of Song list. The girl group includes four members- Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa under YG Entertainment. Throughout its history, BLACKPINK has smashed several internet records. During the first 24 hours following the release of their music videos, both "Kill This Love" (2019) and "How You Like That" (2020) broke records for the most viewed music video, with the latter breaking three and creating two Guinness World Records. Blink is the fandom name of the BLACKPINK group. BLACKPINK won 81 awards. The song-like DDU-DU DDU-DU, Kill This Love, Boombayah, AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST, has one billion-plus views on YouTube. Soon the song How You Like That also will reach one billion views.

 

2. EXO

EXO, a boy band with twelve members currently consists of nine members. They were established in 2011 by SM Entertainment and released their first album the following year. Most of their songs are a mix of pop/hip-hop/R&B and electronic dance music such as house and trapEXO-K (Korean) has Suho, Baekhyun, D.O, Chanyeol, Kai, and Sehun. In contrast EXO-M (Mandarin) has Xuimin, Lay, Chen, and ex-members Kris, Luhan, and Tao. The fandom name of Exo is Exo-L. They are known as “Kings of K-pop.” As a result, Exo became the first Korean act in twelve years to sell over a million copies of their debut album, XOXO (2013), which got released with the worldwide hit "Growl." 'Don't fight the feeling' was published by Exo on June 7, 2021. As a result of military duty, Suho and Chen were inactive. Chanyeol enlisted in the military in March 2021 and Baekhyun in May. Sehun is the Maknae (youngest member) and Suho is the leader of EXO. EXO has won 169 awards totally and the song “Love Shot” has 443+ million views on YouTube. Exo's "Love Shot" topped Billboard's World Digital Songs chart for three weeks in a row, making Exo the second K-pop artist to achieve this feat in its history.

 

1. BTS

BTS has seven members under Big Hit Entertainment, now known as Big Hit Music (HYBE Labels), debuted in the year 2013. Almost all of the septet's work is written and produced by the septet, consisting of the members: Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM (leader), Jimin, V, and Jungkook (Maknae). BTS is well-known throughout the world and has a large following of fans, Army. As a result, it has earned several prestigious honours. They have won many awards worldwide and have conquered Guinness world records. In the year 2021, 'Butter,’ which got released in May, became the group's longest-running #1 debut in Hot 100 history on June 28, surpassing Aerosmith's 23-year record (1998).  On July 9, they released "Permission to Dance," their third English-language song.  Since Michael Jackson's chart-topping quintet in the early 1980s, BTS has accumulated five consecutive number-one hits in 10 months and two weeks, with "Permission to Dance" replacing "Butter" at the top of the Hot 100 on July 19. BTS has won a total of 373 awards. In all, BTS has released nine studio albums, six compilation albums, and six extended plays. The song Butter has four wins at Billboard music awards. Songs like DNA, Dynamite, Boy With Luv, Mic Drop passed one billion views on YouTube. Soon Fake Love and IDOL will reach one billion views.
