It’s been said that December-born people tend to be creative and have a knack for being loved by all. They tend to be organized and have a higher spiritual understanding than most. Here is a list of Chinese singers who were born in the month of December, the last month according to the Gregorian calendar.

1. Zhou Jie Qiong (December 16, 1998)

Zhou Jie Qiong, professionally known as Jieqiong or Kyulkyung, is a Chinese singer. She is signed under Pledis Entertainment and is based in both China and South Korea. Zhou had first debuted as a part of the girl group I.O.I after finishing sixth in the MNET survival show ‘Produce 101’. After I.O.I disbanded, she became a part of another girl group named Pristin and its subgroup, ‘Pristin V’. Zhou went on to make her solo debut in the music industry on September 6, 2018, with the single titled ‘Why’.

 

2. Lexie Liu (December 21, 1998)

Born as Liu Bo Xin, Lexie Liu, is a Chinese singer-songwriter and rapper. Lexie had started her career in July 2018 after winning the fourth position on ‘The Rap of China’. Beforethis she took part in a South Korean reality TV competition, ‘K-pop Star 5’. Although her group placed fourth in the series, she did not end up signing a contract then. Liu finally released her debut EP ‘2030’ with eight singles, in 2019.

 

3. Guo Lan Ying (December 1, 1929)

Guo Lan Ying is a prominent Chinese operatic soprano best known for lending her voice to famous patriotic songs such as ‘Nanniwan’ and ‘My Mother’. Guo Lan Ying became the chief performer at the Song and Dance Theatre of the Central Conservatory of Music, the Central Experimental Opera, and the China Opera House, after the Chinese Revolution She appeared in the film ‘The East Is Red’. She became a part of the first generation of Chinese performing artists to have trained overseas.

 

4. Xu Ge Yang (December 15, 1996)

Xu Ge Yang is a singer hailing from the city of Shenyang in the Liaoning Province of China. She first appeared on screen with her participation in the first season of ‘Sing! China’, a reality TV singing competition. The season was aired on Zhejiang Television in July 2016. Xu Ge Yang had finished the show in fourth place in the finals. After this, she went on to release her first single in May 2017, titled ‘Forever’. Xu won her first award at a Chinese Music Awards Ceremony in 2017, as ‘The Most Promising Singer’.

 

5. Feng Ti Mo (December 19, 1991)

Feng Ti Mo is a singer and internet personality from China. In the year 2017, she was on the list of the ‘Top 10 Influential Big V’s of Sina Weibo’. Feng Ti Mo released her first single, ‘The Food Is Junjie’ in June 2017. Her 2018 February release, ‘The Buddha Girl’, featured as the hottest song on QQ Music, a Chinese music streaming platform, at the time of its release. Feng Ti Mo was ranked as the 10th most popular Chinese-language singer in 2018.

 

6. Yang Kun (December 18, 1972)

Yang Kun is a singer-songwriter based in China. In 1993, he moved to Beijing and signed under the record label, Beijing Culture Development and released his first solo album titled, ‘Indifferent’. With the release of his album, he became a famous singer, widely known for his husky voice and his melancholic songs. Yang Kun’s songs resonate with the emotions of sadness and aimlessness and are mostly inspired by his own experiences in life.

 

7. Jackie Tam (December 2, 1988)

Jackie Tam was born in Shenzhen, China. The singer had moved to Canada at the age of 15 and went on to get accepted into the University of Toronto, Canada. In the summer of 2010, Jackie Tam took part in the Super Boy Singing Competition in Guangzhou and finished fourth out of thirteen contestants. This marked the beginning of Jackie Tam’s career in the music industry.

 

8. Jason Zhang (December 20, 1982)

Jason Zhang is a popular celebrity singer and songwriter. His career was pushed into gear following his participation in the popular Hunan TV talent show, ‘Super Boy’. After his debut as a singer, Jason Zhang has released a number of albums. Some of his most successful albums are, Just Love, Di Yi Zhang and Zai Ai Wo Yi Hui. He became even more well-known after he performed the theme song for the Chinese version of the Hollywood movie, ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ in 2017.

 

9. Ding Wu (December 30, 1962)

Ding Wu is the only original member of the Tang Dynasty, a seminal progressive metal band. The remaining original members have all left and been replaced for various reasons. Ding Wu is the lead vocalist and the rhythm guitarist of the band. His unique wailing falsetto is influenced by the Beijing Opera. Ding announced his first solo album in 2018, and it was set to release in December. The album was titled ‘One Moment’.

 

10. Yu Kui Zhi (December 15, 1961)

Yu Kui Zhi has been a part of the China National Peking Opera Company (Originally named National Peking Opera Theatre of China) since 1987. The Opera house is one of the national ensembles of performance arts. Yu Kui Zhi is a performer of the Hui ethnicity in China and is famously known for playing the roles of elder men (Laosheng) in the opera.
