Busan is known for its magnificent beaches, seafood culture, and delicious street food. Haeundae Beach is known for its water activities. Jagalchi Fish Market is famous for its vast seafood culture. Gwangbokdong Food Street provides the locals and the tourists with its delicious street food. BIFF Square is another popular destination for street food. Haedong Yonggungsa is a monastery located near the sea. These are the famous places to visit in Busan. However, Busan is famous not only for its tourist attractions but also for its Kpop Idols. Several Kpop idols are from Busan or have been born in Busan. Here are the top 10 Kpop idols from Busan.

 

1. Jimin (BTS)

Park Jimin, or Jimin according to his stage name, is from Busan's Geumjeong district. He went to Hoedong Elementary School (is now shut down) and Yongsan Middle School in Busan. In his Middle School years, Jimin joined Just Dance Academy and learned popping and locking dance. He was a top student in the Busan High School for Arts' modern dance department, where he studied contemporary dance. The Busan Tourism Organization created a “Jimin Tour” for their fans during the 5th “MUSTER MAGIC SHOP” fan meeting on the 15th and 16th of June. On tour, the fans went around Busan to visit places where Jimin spent his childhood.

 

2. Jungkook (BTS)

Jeon Jungkook, or Jungkook, is another BTS member from Busan and is the main vocalist. He is from the Buk district in Busan. He went to Baekyang Elementary School and Middle School before accepting the offer from Bighit Entertainment. The Busan Tourism Organization created a tour for Jungkook named “Jungkook tour.” On this tour, fans visited the neighborhood where Jungkook lived. This tour took place during the 5th “MUSTER MAGIC SHOP” fan meeting of BTS in Busan.

 

3. I.N. (StrayKidz or SKZ)

I.N., Yang Jeong-in, or simply Jeong-in, is the maknae of SKZ or StrayKidz. He used to reside in the Dong district of Busan with his family. He attended Dongil Jungang Elementary School and Busanseo Middle School, an all-male school. He dropped out of Myeongho High School to become a trainee in Seoul. I.N. attended the School of Performing Arts (a well-known school in Seoul for trainees and idols from all entertainment companies).

 

4. Arin (Oh My Girl!)

Choi Ye Won, better known as Arin, the sweet Music Bank MC alongside TXT's Soobin, is another popular idol from Busan. She used to live in the Nam district of Busan. She used to attend Dongduk Middle School but changed to Seoul's School of Performing Arts before making her debut as the lead singer and maknae of Oh My Girl in 2015.

 

5. Kang Daniel (Soloist)

Kang Daniel is the CEO of Konnect Entertainment and one of the most famous soloists. He is an ex-member of the boy band “Wanna One”. He lived in the Yeongdo district of Busan. Daniel went to Cheonghak Elementary School and Shinseon Middle School. He later attended Peniel High School of the Arts as a major in modern dance and ballet. While living in Busan, he joined the Nataraja Academy, known for its street dancing and choreography routines. Daniel was a member of the Loups dance crew for B-boying from Nataraja Academy under his pseudo name "FLAC.”

 

6. Sungjin (Day6)

Park Sung-Jin is the main vocalist, leader, and guitarist of Day6 from JYP Entertainment. He is from the Saha district of Busan. He went to Sinnam Elementary School, Hanam Middle School, and Kyungnam High School. He and Sandeul (from B1a4) have been best friends since elementary school.

 

7. Jeong Eunji (Apink)

Jeong Hyerim, also known as Jeong Eunji, is the lead vocalist of Apink under IST Entertainment and a fantastic actress. She was a resident of Haeundae in Busan. She went to Hapdo Kindergarten, Shinjae Elementary School, and Jaesong Girls Middle School. She is an alumna of Hyehwa Girls High School.

 

8. Woozi (Seventeen)

Lee Ji-Hoon, or Woozi of Seventeen, is a talented singer and producer. He has produced many of his band's songs. He lived in Gwangan-dong in Busan. He attended Suyeong Elementary School and Dongsuyeong Middle School. He joined Hanlim Arts High School in Seoul, where he joined Pledis Entertainment as a trainee. He was a part of an English academy in his elementary school year. He used to play the clarinet and learned classical music as an elementary student.

 

9. Dowoon (Day6)

Yoon Dowoon, or Dowoon of Day6, is the drummer and maknae of the group. He is a resident of Busan. He went to Ungnam Elementary School, Changwon Sangnam Middle School, and Peniel High School of Arts (the same one Daniel attended). He graduated from Busan Arts College. He is one of the idols to graduate from Busan.

 

10. SF9

Kim Young-Kyun, or Hwi Young, is the rapper and dancer of Sf9 and an established actor. He was a resident of Chungcheongbuk-do in Busan. Hwiyoung went to Hanlim Arts High School in Seoul. His family lived in Busan till he was 12 years old.
