Many people are coming forward to appreciate Korean artists, therefore here are some of the comebacks that caused a stir in Korea and outside Korea, even during the pandemic. Some of these comebacks might not be recent, but were iconic at the time of release, which is why they deserve to be called iconic even after all this time.

1. Butter-BTS

BTS’ Butter which is of the genre dance-pop, became a best-selling album, broke many records, and became the most viewed music video within a day on YouTube. Butter even broke BTS’ previous records of Dynamite, and now Butter is being sold as CDs with their latest single, Permission to Dance. They have already sold many albums already, proving the popularity of BTS.

 

2. Any Song-ZICO

Any Song became a viral TikTok trend and was even played in dramas, like “Racket Boys,” the song became a challenge and people were crazy for the very catchy and easy steps of the choreography which was done by Zico on the track. Some of the celebrities who were a part of the challenge were Chungha, Hwasa, Sandara Park, Park Shin Hye, and Mino.

 

3. Kick It-NCT 127

Kick it by NCT 127 is a part of their new album which is called Neo Zone; the entire album has a blend of many genres, true to the nature of releases by NCT 127. They are well known for experimenting in genres like heavy bass hip hop to EDM-pop and funky groove. The song Kick is a very powerful display of their Asian identity, influenced by martial arts and legendary marital artists Bruce Lee.

Boyband Tomorrow X Together, which comes under the same label as BTS, Hybe, made a comeback, and their song Runaway (9 and Three Quarters), belonging to the genre New Wave and Synth Pop was their lead single from their studio album debut, is influenced from the Harry Potter universe.

The song became a real hit and is a tribute to the journey of the entire right members. How they faced and accepted themselves and their years of youth, the boy band released Answer as the lead single to their Treasure Epilogue: Action to Answer.

The song was highly anticipated due to the collaboration of BTS’ Suga and IU, who had approached him with the offer of collaboration. The song is a mixture of different sentiments and acts like a confession song that has hidden messages of mental health issues, which is still a taboo in Korean society (or Asian society overall).

The upbeat song Left and Right, which is a part of Seventeen’s mini-album Heng:garae, serves as a motivational song to not be easily upset about the downsides of life but be cheerful and to realize that we are doing our best in every situation given to us.
