The fans and the artist both wait for the comebacks of their favorite artists. And the artist put a lot of hard work into delivering and meeting the audiences’ expectations. But sometimes things go wrong, and this hard work is ruined and we can all feel the pain. So, in this article, we will explore ten such comebacks that were ruined for some reason.

1. Girls’ Generation – Mr.Mr

Girls’ Generation is a South Korean girl group. The group has eight members, formed by SM Entertainment in August 2007. The group initially had nine members; Jessica left the group in September 2014. In South Korea, the group is nicknamed “The Nation’s Girl Group.” The group’s 2014 comeback was ruined when their song “Mr.Mr” master file and video footage were corrupted. They had to reshoot parts of the video, which delayed their comeback by two weeks. Because of this delay, the group was against 2NE1’s “Crush” album release, which was already planned. The boy’s band “Mr.Mr” and their talent agency called out SM Entertainment for the name of the song and later released their diss track aiming at Girls’ Generation.

2. T-ara – Sexy Love

T-ara is a South Korean girl group. The group was formed by MBK Entertainment in 2009. The group consists of four members. In 2012, a former member of the group Hwayoung was bullied by her fellow bandmates. Though these allegations were proven false, the damage was already done.  The group faced multiple other bullying allegations in 2021. The managing agency of the group never addressed these allegations properly and went ahead with the group’s “Sexy Love” comeback. This, and other comebacks, were a failure, and the group could never reach its former glory.

3. IU – Zeze

Lee Ji-Eun is professionally known as IU. She is a singer, songwriter, composer, and actress. In 2015, IU released her comeback album “Chat-Shire,” and its song “Zeze” wasn’t received warmly by the audience. The song allegedly sexualized the five years old protagonist of the popular Brazilian book “My Sweet Orange Tree.” Some people tagged the song as “paedophilic” and tried to ruin her reputation.

4. Zico – Tough Cookie

Block B member Zico released his first solo track, “Tough Cookie,” in 2014. The song found itself in controversy for using a confederate flag and a gay slur in the songs. For this reason, the music video was taken down and reuploaded after editing the lyrics. The managing company of the artist, Seven Season, and the artist himself apologized for the lyrics. It said that the lyrics were not directed toward any community in any bad way. Some artist’s fans tried to defend him, but the song’s popularity, has already suffered enough damage.

5. LOONA – Lawsuits

LOONA is a 12-member girl group. The group was formed in 2018 and managed by BlockBerry Creative. There we many allegations against the company for mishandling the artist, things finally went down when BlackBerry fired one of the popular members of the LOONA, Chuu. This incident, in addition to tours that left the other members injured to perform further, the members filled a case for termination of their contract with BlockBerry Creative. After the boycott by fans, the company finally canceled the comeback. And finally, the girls’ won the case and were freed from their contract. Though the group’s comeback was ruined and never happened, it might be the best thing for them.

6. Red Velvet – Psycho

A team member of the group Wendy got injured in a stage accident during the rehearsals of the SBS Gayo Daejeon. When she was entering the stage through unsecured stairs, she fell 2.5 meters below the concrete. Due to this accident, her pelvis, and wrist broke and she also suffered a crack on her cheekbone. It took her months to recover fully. The group released their song “Psycho” on 23 December, and they were pumping up for promotions of the song starting from SBS. Because of this incident, the song was never promoted properly though the album was a success.

7. PENTAGON – Naughty Boy

In 2018 PENTAGON released their song “Naughty Boy” as their comeback. But just before this comeback, the former member of the band E’Dawn was caught in some controversy with the Triple H member HyunA. The comeback of PENTAGON was set after the promotions of Triple H. The managing agency of the artist Cube Entertainment said that this kind of relationship violates their contract. Member Yanan was already missing from the vocals part due to health issues, so this incident created controversy about the next move of Cube Entertainment. The agency released the album on 10th September and announced that E’Dawn is no longer part of the band. The vocals of two artists were missing from the album.

8. MONSTA X – Follow

In 2019, MONSTA X released their comeback track “Follow.” A few days after the music video was released, one of the members of the band, Wonho found himself embroiled in controversies. He faced allegations of drug use and owing money to others. Due to these incidents, the public protested against him, and the pressure forced him to leave the band. Though the comeback continued as it was going, and Wonho was cleared of all charges, he was never reinstated in the group.

9. SHINee – Why So Serious

The lead singer of the band, Jonghyun got in an accident, and due to injuries, he had to miss the promotions of the band’s comeback album “The Misconceptions Of Us,” he was also unable to shoot for the music video. The management agency of the band SM Entertainment decided to go ahead with the comeback without Jonghyun. This move by the agency upset the fans, and even though the singer joined the last leg of the promotion, it was too late, and the comeback was ruined.

10. Ladies’ Code – Kiss Kiss

in 2014, the girl group Ladies’ Code released their comeback sone “Kiss Kiss.” During the promotion of the song, one rainy September night, the group was coming back to Seoul they met with a serious accident. One member EunB was killed on the spot, and another member, Rise, passed away from her injuries after some days.
