A Gumiho or a nine-tailed fox is a Korean folk character. It eats human livers, or hearts. Gumihos can transform themselves into humans. Based on this, there are many dramas about Gumihos who live like humans. Here are a few actors, who have played the character of a nine-tailed fox.
1. Lee Dong Wook
Lee Dong Wook is known for playing supernatural characters. In the drama, ‘The Tale of the Nine-Tailed,’ he plays Lee Yeon who is a guardian spirit turned city dweller. He has to find his lover who has been reincarnated.
2. Kim Bum
Kim Beom made a massive comeback with ‘The Tale of the Nine-tailed.’ He plays Lee Rang, who initially seems like a bad guy, but he just wants his brother’s love. Lee Rang’s character brought tears in the eyes of viewers.
3. Shin Min Ah
While Gumihos are often portrayed as scary characters, Shin Min A in ‘My Girlfriend is a Gumiho,’ changed viewers minds. She plays Park Seon Ju, who is accidentally set free. She wants to become a human and has to marry one before it is too late.
4. Jang Ki Yong
In ‘My Roommate is a Gumiho,’ Jang Ki Young plays 999-year-old Shin Woo Yeo who has not been able to turn into a human. His fox beads are taken by Lee Dam, a college student. To get them back, he allows her to stay in his house.
5. Kang Han Na
Yang Hye Sun, Woo Yeo’s only friend in ‘My Roomate is a Gumiho,’ is played by Kang Han Na. After living for years as a Gumiho, she has finally turned into a human. She is also a college student.

Lee Seung Gi starred in ‘My Girlfriend is a Gumiho,’ but he was not a fox in that one. He played the role of a Gumiho named Choi Kang Chi in the historical drama ‘Gu Family Book.’ He is a half-gumiho who wants to turn into a human.
7. Kim Yong Ji
Another Tale of the Nine-tailed star, Kim Yong Ji played the role of Ki Yu Ri. She always stays by Rang’s side. She is a Gumiho from Russia and is indebted to Rang. She falls in love with Koo Shin Joo, another Gumiho.
8. Choi Jin Hyuk
Choi Jin Hyuk played the role of Lee Seung Gi’s father in ‘Gu Family Book.’ He is a guardian spirit. He falls in love with Yoon Seo Hwa, the daughter of a nobleman.
9. Kim Tae Hee
Kim Tae Hee plays a warrior Gumiho in the 2004 drama ‘Forbidden Love.’ She works at a museum in the morning without revealing her actual identity. She is suspected as a murderer by a detective who wants to find the truth.

Han Eun Jung plays Gu San Daek in the drama ‘Grudge: The Revolt of Gumiho.’ She plays a Gumiho who is betrayed by her lover and fights to save her daughter’s life. Her life takes a turn when a man, who plans to kill her daughter, falls in love with her.
