Drama Digest

Hong Ji Ah owns Daebak Realty, a real estate company, and, she has Joo Hwa Jung to assist her. In contrast to any other estate agency, the peculiarity of this firm is that they specialize in selling haunted houses, and as weird as it may sound their working hours start late at night. Our female protagonist Hong Ji Ah has exorcism abilities which she inherited from her mother. Moving on to the male lead of this story, Oh In Beom is a con artist who later develops psychic abilities. He along with his partner Heo Ji Chul frauds people by making them believe that their habitat is invaded by phantoms. They together build up many similar plots just to sell their ‘ghost detector device’. One fine day Ji Ah comes across In Beom and for some reason, they both keep on bumping into each other shortly. Following their chance encounters, one night In Beom proposes a deal to Ji Ah to accompany her on all of her further ghostly expeditions. What is the outcome of this collaboration? Watch ‘Sell Your Haunted House’ to answer your question.

The Feel-Good Part

Brace yourselves before watching this drama, because there’s a ghost attack every now and then and you won’t even see it coming. Unlike, most horror-comedy dramas this show has many spine-chilling moments and lesser hilarious instances comparatively. The ghosts in the show dispersed a very ‘ghostly’ aura all thanks to the special effects and editing team. As it proceeds, the story unfolds many mysteries and secrets part by part which all, later on, add up to make the main storyline. The show is full of twists and turns but the spin that came along with the climax was a very anticipated and unpredictable one.

The Disappointing Factor

Every story has a villain, and so does this drama but the antagonist of the show did not give the ‘villanish’ vibe we expected from the narrative. He was an evil doer no doubt but he was not a strong villain. This drama did not sow the seed of romance between the main leads though they exchanged many dialogues full of love for each other (note the sarcasm) those little moments seemed very cute to the bystanders. The story and the effects are very scary so if you are not strong-hearted you could always opt it out.

In-Depth Analysis

Sell Your Haunted House is a story that tells the story of Ji Ah and In beom’s expedition to fight against ghosts and their quests to find the truth behind the mysterious deaths of their respective family members. A real estate agent and a con man pairing up sounds very unethical but a team of an exorcist and a psychic is a collaboration worth looking forward to.  The narrative empathizes not only with the bereaved families but also with the wandering spirits because there is always a reason for the soul being unable to rest in peace. The story holds true to all of its genres, the horror part attaining the highest score amongst them all. This narrative is so bewitching, that once you are into it there is no coming out until you complete watching it.

Star Power

Jang Na Ra and her acting skills need no introduction. She is an actress that can make us cry and laugh along with her. As always she did a fabulous job in the character of Hong Ji Ah. Jung Yong Hwa played the part of Oh In Beom very well. Though there was no romance between them, their chemistry together was undeniably great partially filling the gaps. Ahn Kil Young’s acting as Do Hak Sung was also amazing. It was not his acting that lacked the villainish vibe but the character of Do Hak Sung lacked the devil’s aura. The rest of the team also did a fantastic job.

Overall Opinion

Does your soul find peace in watching people fight unrested spirits? Well, this show will help your soul rest in peace.
