Drama Digest
The story is about Lloyd, a boy from a village at the end of the continent. Despite being able to defeat even the most powerful of enemies, he considers himself the weakest. He wishes to become a soldier in the capital; hence he convinces the mayor of his village, who is a loli witch of over 100 years of age, and sets off to fulfill his dream.
The Feel-Good Part
The show received a lot of criticism because of the poorly written characters and no storyline, although viewers can enjoy it if there is nothing to watch as it requires very less investment.
The Disappointing Factor
The show has a significantly poor rating because of its subjective humor and confusing plot. There is no true story and poor development of the main character. The storyline is the episodes are not consistent, and they keep adding characters to the show with no context. The characters are not well written, and the exaggeration of the humor made it annoying to watch.
In-Depth Analysis
Konron village is situated beside the “last dungeon,” a place where powerful monsters live, which also serves as a hunting ground for residents of Konron village. Ancient saviors of humanity founded the village ages ago. Their descendants were to assist humanity in times of extreme need. Loyd is a boy staying in the village with his wishful desire to become a soldier in the capital. He has proved his strength several times but still considers himself a weakling. Later in the story, Loyd’s power saves the kingdom from its enveloping crisis.
They categorized the soldiers into three types: the wall level, which are the regular soldiers in the capital. They gave their names, as they could break walls and solid iron using a single punch. The next level, upper than the wall level, is the small city level. These soldiers follow the ancient martial art style of Pyrid. The third and most powerful are the people of the legendary Konron village. Their mayor, Alka, having enough power to destroy the world, is called the planet level.
Star Power
Tatoeba Last Dungeon Mae no Mura no Shounen ga Joban no Machi de Kurasu Youna Monogatari, which translates to “The Example of the Story of the Boy from the Village Next to the Last Dungeon Living in an Early Town.” It is a light novel series written by Toshio Satou and illustrated by Nao Watanuki. Despite all the poor reviews of the show, all the voice actors performed their parts well, especially the main character Hanamori Yumiri.
Overall Opinion
Overall, the show did not receive enough recognition but lots of criticism. It is an adventure show having a base but no story. Having such a poorly made, it is up to the viewers if they want to invest in it.
