Drama Digest

By accident, a 400-year-old alien Mitsuru Higashiyama arrived on Earth and has been living in disguise since then. His perfectly planned life becomes full of chaos when Sasahara Tsubaki, a popular actress, enters his life as his neighbour. Sasahara who supposedly has a terrible attitude, however, is more than what meets the eyes. How will these two people who are complete opposites of each other fall in love and will this love even last when their relationship already has a stipulated time limit? To know the answer, you got to watch the series.

The Feel-Good Part

There are very few fantasy dramas that can pull off the concept without being boring, and this is one of those. With unpredictable scenes and perfect comic timing, this series will keep you entertained throughout. The initial friction between the leads is hilarious and the gradual morphing of the hate to love feels very natural. The antics of Sasahara and Mitsuru in the series will, no doubt, make you double up with laughter.

The Disappointing Factor

This series is the Japanese adaptation of the Korean drama series “My Love from the Star” which had a total of 16 episodes. However, the Japanese adaptation has only 10 episodes for which the story had to be compressed and cut short in many places. The lack of time didn’t give the storyline a chance to explore the stories of the supporting characters in depth nor could the relationship between the leads be portrayed in great detail. Moreover, despite the talented actors cast in the series, few scenes just lack the charm and at times, there seems to be no chemistry between the characters. The acting of the cast is questionable in a few places and doesn’t have the necessary appeal. Another disappointing thing about the series is the OST which is dull and unsuitable for the series.

In-Depth Analysis

Mitsuru is an alien who was stranded on Earth some 400 years ago and has been pretending to be a human ever since. He is, at present in the series, a professor in a university and tries his level best to hide his powers and his true self. On the other hand, Sasahara is a top actress who, though a good person at heart, comes across as arrogant and prideful. As the two become neighbours, they cross paths frequently, eventually ending up in love. However, Mitsuru has a chance to return to his world in three months. Will they go their ways forgetting their love or will they find a way to stay together?

Star Power

Fukushi Sota has been cast as Mitsuru Higashiyama while Yamamoto Mizuki plays the role of Sasahara Tsubaki.

Overall Opinion

To summarise, if you are looking for an average drama having an element of fantasy and romance along with comedy, then this might be the perfect choice.
