Drama Digest

Kamen Rider Revice: The Mystery is a special web series that is a spinoff from the popular Japanese drama series “Kamen Rider Revice”. It is the first spinoff from the series and has Rina Aizawa as a guest heroine. A murder takes place in an isolated house and Igarashi, with his fellow detectives Vice and Kadota have to solve the mystery. Moreover, Ikki and Hiromi become a part of a love triangle. Who is the culprit? And what is hidden beneath the pretty faces of the people involved? Will the detectives be able to solve this mystery?

The Feel-Good Part

A well-organised plot with lots of action and absolutely no boredom is what The Mystery Special comprises. The flow of the story is very natural and the visuals of the actors make it very easy to watch. The ensemble cast from all the Kamen Rider series will add to your joy. The action scenes and stunts are quite polished and there is just the right balance between action and story-telling.

The Disappointing Factor

A short period of just 90 minutes is not enough to do justice to the story as planned by the production team. Hence, the pace of the storytelling is too fast. There are a few unnecessary scenes which are of no use to the story development. In a few places, so many things happen at once that it becomes difficult to keep a track of things.

In-Depth Analysis

Ikki and Hiromi reach a Pension after fighting the Orangutan Deadman, where they meet the other residents. The lodge staff include the proprietor of the house Suzu, the caretaker Shinzo and the maid Misa. Among others in the lodge is restauranteur Yasuo, a writer Taro and Suzu’s guitar teacher Naoto. Suddenly when Gondwara is found dead, Ikki and Hiromi suspect that the culprit is hiding in the lodge and begin their investigation at once. They are joined later by Genpachiro Otta, another detective and an ally, George Karizaki and Ryu Terui. How the detectives collect the evidence, come across some shocking realisations and finally discover the murderer is what follows next.

Star Power

The series boasts an ensemble cast consisting of Kentaro Maeda, Subaru Kimura, Noritaka Hamao, Junya Komatsu, Wataru Hyuga and Ayaka Imoto in the main roles. This mini-series also includes several guest casts. Watch the series to find out their identity.

Overall Opinion

In short, this series is a pretty decent watch considering it is crisp, to the point and yet, efficient in executing the plot with lots of action.
