Drama Digest
To love is a thriller story based on the novel Shu Yi, which revolves around the fate of several individuals with different backgrounds. Yan Jin used to be an anti-narcotics police and he changes his profession to a businessman. He starts to investigate the death of his close friend which is caused by drug trafficking. He enters an organization in disguise as an undercover cop and meets Ji Xiao Ou, a café owner. Zhan Yu hates Yan Jin and is jealous of him as he has a crush on Xiao Ou. Zhan Yu is murdered and Yan Jin becomes the prime suspect. The story continues as Yan Jin tries to prove his innocence while investigating his friend’s death with the help of Xiao Ou.
The Feel-Good Part
The story is quite interesting and how the story unfolds as Yan Jin investigates further into his friend’s death. The chemistry between Jin and Xiao Ou is adorable.
The Disappointing Factor
There are a lot of episodes to watch and some scenes feel like they have been dragged. And the story might confuse some people at the start but their confusion gets cleared by watching further. The background sounds, like the sound effect for footsteps, don’t seem to match the pace of the picture.
In-Depth Analysis
Yan Jin used to be anti-narcotics police in the past, and while being a policeman he poses as an underworld mobster to capture a powerful drug dealer. Later, he becomes a businessman. He starts to investigate the death of his close friend which is caused by drug traffickers. He enters an organization in disguise to investigate his friend’s death and meets Ji Xiao Ou, an innocent-looking café owner. Zhan Yu hates Yan Jin and is jealous of him as he has a crush on Xiao Ou. But Zhan Yu is found dead and Yan Jin becomes the prime suspect. The first 13 episodes have transitions from past to present. The present timeline continues from the 14th episode. Ting Hui is the deputy head of the criminal investigation unit. The story goes on as Yan Jin tries to prove his innocence while investigating his friend’s death with the help of Xiao Ou and Ting Hui. This story shows the perspectives of both Yan Jin and Xiao Ou which is unique.
Star Power
Kenny Lin’s action is excellent and the supporting characters also performed surprisingly well.
Overall Opinion
The story is good and the action is also good. Along with the suspense, we can also see cute chemistry between the leads. Overall, it is worth watching.
