Drama digest:

This is a story about a boy, Makoto, who’s mysteriously taken into a goddess’s world as a representative of Earth. But hatred from the goddess turns his life upside down.

The feel-good factor:

The series has a perfect balance of comedic and serious scenes. The character designs are unique. Even though it’s similar to the stories we’ve seen before, it managed to be refreshing. Many scenes of the series are amazingly confusing as of which one is real and which one isn’t. And even when the series is a normal Isekai one, it’s a good one.

The disappointing factor:

The biggest downside of the series is the annoyance the goddess causes with the way she treats Makoto. Moreover, the goddess’s world has been set up without much plan.

In-depth analysis:

The main protagonist of the series is a regular young boy named Makoto Misumi. He is a below-average student in both academics as well as sports. Unknown to him, his parents had made a deal about him with a goddess. Concerning this deal, he is taken to a mysterious world by the goddess as an earth dweller. As soon as he’s taken, he’s thrown into a place called the ‘Wasteland,’ which is situated at the edge of the goddess’s world. He’s thrown because he didn’t match the goddess’s beauty standards. She discards him as extremely ugly and unattractive. Along with Makoto, the goddess had secretly kidnapped other people who she found attractive and sent them to the World of Heroes. Makoto, alone in the Wasteland, roams around for three days without any food or water. But as Makoto had gained some supernatural powers, he hears a distant scream and runs towards it. After reaching the origin of the scream, he meets a pig-like-faced girl named Emma. She belonged to the royal family of Highland Orcs. As Makoto saves her life, she starts thinking of him as her ‘messiah.’ She takes Makoto to her home, feeds him, and gives him a place to stay. Finally, Makoto gets to experience comfort after three days of wandering alone. In that world, Makoto is also helped by the Moon-god called ‘Tsukuyomi’ as the goddess had neglected Makoto. As time passes by, Makoto comes across several demi humans and mythical beings. With time, he also gains various supernatural powers and becomes extremely powerful. Despite all this, Makoto wants to return to Earth to meet his feelings for humans but the goddess’s curse still lingers on his head. Will Makoto be able to return to Earth?

Star power:

Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto, also called the Moon God, was responsible for summoning Makoto due to the contract between his parents and the goddess. But after seeing the goddess’s treatment of Makoto, he takes responsibility for Makoto and helps him while giving him the freedom of doing whatever he wants in the goddess’s world. Later, Tsukuyomi also gives all his powers to Makoto. For helping Makoto like nobody else, Tsukuyomi was the star of the show.

Overall opinion:

The story is an interesting one. The world, the series has tried to represent is a combination of humor and seriousness. So, one can watch the series as a light-hearted one rather than a serious one.
