Movie Digest

After his father passed, Yoshito was raised by his mother. His mother runs a grilled meat restaurant that was left by his father. The restaurant was loved by many people, and Yoshito also enjoyed his mother’s cooking. Things turned upside down when an inaccurate statement was circulated by a famous food critic Furuyama Tatsuya about Yakiniku’s restaurant. After the news spread, the customers stopped coming to the restaurant. Yasue worked hard to recover the business. But, Yoshito wanted his mother’s attention, so Yasue shut the restaurant down. After 18 years, Yoshito works as a freelancer and lives alone. He took work for a new online foodie website, and he is working with Takenaka Shizuka, an editor. His first assignment involves Yakiniku. Sadly, during that time, he hears that his mother has collapsed.

The Feel-Good Part

The story and the presentation were good. The dialogue delivery was satisfactory. The pacing felt perfect according to the plot. The modern editing of Yoshito and Tatsuya was impressive.

The Disappointing Factor

The story does not disappoint, but the cinematography and editing at points look weird. It was an excellent movie with minimum flaws.

In-Depth Analysis

The story revolves around a son trying to reconnect with his mother. He meets other restaurateurs who were inspired by his mother’s kindness. He made his journey harder, for which he never forgave himself. As he goes out for an interview, he encounters the nostalgic taste at many restaurants. He slowly understands his mother’s feelings. Yoshito is guided by food luck and discovers a miracle in the end. The film reaches into universal human experience, grievances everybody had with their parents. Reconciliation in comprehending and enjoying the present from the ordinary but impactful. The film fares better as it adds value. The movie wants to make people realize that the chef’s wish is essential for the food to be delicious, not the origin or the marvelous.

Star Power

The cast lived up to the expectations. The actors performed well what was given to them. The supporting characters also did justice with their roles. The female lead was successful in standing out with her performance.

Overall Opinion

It is a decent movie to ahead with. It has a mesmerizing and heart-touching story.
