Movie Digest

When a courageous warrior joins forces to protect the Gods, fight for the good, and against evil, the Devils are waiting for the opportunity to battle.

Well, there is no doubt that good always triumphs over evil but the path has plenty of challenges, and encounters that need to be won with agility and intelligence.

This movie is about one such brave fighter Bai Xia, the master of the Central Plains. He leaves the plains to head to Fusang, and joins hands with the famous onmyoji (like a guru) Abe Haruaki to help find the list of blessed gods. Unfortunately, the list is hidden in the Fusang court, and to retrieve it, the two must fight the nasty forces lying in wait for them and the list.

The movie is all about the Xia and Hauraki battling them to safeguard the list and the names in it.

The Feel-Good Part

It has fabulous visuals, on point costumes and mind-blowing martial arts. The movie also has some comic scenes that breaks the monotony of it being too action oriented.

The Disappointing Factor

The story needed to be etched out a bit more to define all the characters especially the male lead.

In-Depth Analysis

In the fantasy world, there are two sides: the protector of the virtuous and the ones against. The battle between them is vicious and malevolent as either side wants to rule the world.

When the Bai Xia joins forces with Abe Haruaki to find the list of the sacred gods, he not just needs to protect but also fight the malicious forces who want that list.

Like in every story, the good forces win but to get to that point, the journey is not easy and the movie is all about that.

Star Power

Wang Run Zae is aptly cast as Bai Xia, and the other cast members are on par.

Overall Opinion

If fantasy action is your cup of tea, then drink this one.
