Movie Digest
This is another part of the iconic Di Renjie series. The movie is adapted from the novel Di Renjie’s Jedi Drought by Xuan Panger. In this series, Di Renjie is a governor of Weizhou. It took so many struggles for him to get there but the problems did not solve here. Weizhou is in a terrible condition as it is plague-ridden. Things keep getting harder for the villagers and for Di Renjie. He was injured several times and assassinated while serving as the governor. It wasn’t long enough when Di Renjie was hit by the plague too. His face got covered with blue veins and his posture was changed as well. He was named as the worst Di Renjie in history. As the city was blooming with the plague, people got impatient and extremely unhappy. Outside of the city, there was a threat of an attack from the enemy’s side. Will Di Renjie be able to clear the case successfully? Watch the film to know more about it.
The Feel-Good Part
The audience loved the film and was stunned by the plot and surprises. The scenes are so well directed and executed. Some suggested watching the movie right away without thinking and some noted how fast the movie went by despite it being for almost 2 hours.
The Disappointing Factor
The movie was great, besides a few minor flaws. The audience did requested the makers the of the Di Renjie series to not change the actors over and over again as it gets quite confusing for the viewers as there are various Di Renjie movies.
In-Depth Analysis
The movie involves all kinds of twists and plots. Di Renjie being the brilliant detective as he is, managed to figure out things that nobody could. As the city was undergoing a difficult phase due to the plague, Di Renjie somehow found that the reason of the plague was not a natural disaster but a man-made disaster. The city was purposely made to suffer a horrendous disease. It was a poison made by their enemy to destroy the city and the villagers. In fact there was even a greater conspiracy which was targeting the Great Zhou Dynasty. Di Renjie found out about the truth and helped both the ruling and opposition parties from a war and saved the city from the poisoned plague.
Star Power
The cast did an incredible job playing their roles. He Gang played the role of the great Di Renjie, Yu Hui Tao played the role of Zhang Yi Wu, Zhang Di played the role of Xiang Yun Yao, Zhang Jing Wei played the role Wen Kang Ji, Yue Jun Ling played the of the inspector of Weizhou, etc. The entire cast was great and successfully made the film a hit.
Overall Opinion
Overall the film was great with amazing cinematography. The director also did an excellent job with the movie.
