Drama Digest

The Tiao family is one of the most influential families in Phuket and has multiple successful businesses. Tiao Leng got murdered with his grandson surviving the attack and got adopted by his childhood friend Zhang Leng with a new name Chalumpol. For many years two families begin to wrestle for the will, and soon another murder happens in their family. Chalumpol has turned into a charming man who must find the real murderer behind his father’s murder and the latest one. During his journey, he accidentally runs into a young female guide named Nampeung, who becomes involved in a dangerous crossfire. Even though Chalumpol has started falling for this girl, he must first deal with the prime tasks on hand. The suspects keep changing, and the truth becomes much more twisted than expected. But an unpredictable relationship appears when Nampeung becomes Chalumpol’s young step grandma with the new status.

The Feel-Good Part

The show follows a battle between friends and family to gain the will that can make anyone greedy, which makes for an entertaining family drama with murder mysteries and complicated romance. The show portrays multiple characters trying to fight for their share of money with games, mind tricks and plotting. The acting performances of the entire cast were commendable and well portrayed. Many twists and turns are surprising and unpredictably carried out. Some characters also have well-established back stories and proper development in the storylines.

The Disappointing Factors

Plot-wise, the drama needs to be more realistic and sensibly portrayed. The episodes seemed unnecessarily dragged on many times with an over-the-top plot twist that made no sense. People may also get annoyed due to its inconsistency in quality and pace as it lacks in the execution parts. The lead couple also seems to have a problematic relationship, which got questionably portrayed at times. The production value seems low and directing style doesn’t bring anything new to this drama.

In-Depth Analysis

The show portrays a story around family ties, murder, crimes, friendship, love, jealousy, and betrayal. It depicts an adopted son trying his best to find the killer behind his father’s death and the complex family differences that arise in-between his path. It captures the daily lives of affluent families that betray their families in need of money, power, and fame. An entangled love story between two strangers who are more than unknown about their backgrounds and family status, but when the truth comes out, it makes things messy and chaotic.

Star Power

The director is Boonyathorn Kitiphattakon, and the writer is Prampasulert Wanna for this show. Weir Sukollawat Kanarot plays the role of Chalumpol, Prapye Ramida Theerapat plays the role of Nampeung and Phraota, Great Sapol Assawankong portrays Saknarong, and Sky Maria Hoerchler plays Phraephisut in this series.

Overall Opinion

This show can be a perfect soap opera for the audience interested in the overly portrayed drama surrounding a family and their complex relationships. The series provides an engaging experience that might only appease a specific group of audience, but it is still a decent pick to check out.
