Drama Digest –

When Yoon Se Ri is about to take over her father’s company, she finds herself in North Korea, When she went for paragliding due to some changes in weather and encounters Captain Ri Jeong Hyeok. With a cinematic turn of events, she finds herself quite literally crashlanding on Captain Ri. Surrounded by Captain Ri and his four patrol officers who debate whether to report her to the authorities, Se Ri learns to adapt to the humble lifestyle of soldiers and enjoys being an ordinary person living in a village surrounded by good and well-meaning people. Throughout the drama, Se Ri longs for home and enjoys her time in North Korea, eventually falling in love with Captain Ri. However, how long can an unidentified South Korean woman stay in hiding in North Korea without the inevitable happening?

The Feel-Good Part –

This drama takes romance to a whole new level with mellow and warm scenes accompanied by heart-wrenching scenes filled with love, friendship, kindness, and humanity. The sub-plots are as interesting as the main plot points, making the drama enjoyable at every step. There is character growth alongside stories of loyalty, corruption, and familial love. The drama has the right amount of thrill to keep you at the edge of your seat and of course, the best part is, as always, seeing the bad guys fight it out with our main cast. Most loved second leads in the social media and chemistry their is feels good to watch.

The Disappointing Factor –

The drama did take the idea of fate and destiny a bit too far when it came to the love story of the main leads. Furthermore, it did seem slightly rushed towards the end. There was plenty of room in the script for a few scenes to be less dramatized, but in a way that’s a plus point. Who doesn’t like some dramatization?

In-Depth Analysis –

One of the main things that struck me was that it changed the way I looked at North Korea as a country. The drama opens a new window into the lives of ordinary people of North Korea and of the soldiers who toil to protect their citizens and nation. It drove home the point of there being both good and bad people everywhere. Se Ri’s family members are hostile to her while five men from another country take her in with more warmth than she has ever received. Moreover, Se Ri’s life in Seoul is seen as the dream life of any woman. However, her life in a small and happy village in North Korea showed that life was not all about high-rise buildings but about the hearts and kindness of those around her.

Star Power –

Needless to say, the drama is star-studded with Seo Ye Ji playing Yoon Se Ri, and Hyun Bin playing Ri Jeong Hyeok. Seo Ji Hye and Kim Jung Hyung play supporting roles. Furthermore, Lee Shin Young, Yang Kyung Won, Ha Seok Jin, Yoo Su Bin, Kim Sun Young, and Jang Hye Jin also grace the drama with their life-like performance.

There are also fantastic star cameos throughout the drama that catch you by surprise. So make sure you watch the drama!

Overall Opinion –

It is a beautiful story of love, friendship, loyalty, and family that will not let you down. The casting, the direction, the scriptwriting, and everything is on point. So, you will not regret watching it!
