Drama Digest

Chen Xiao Qian is an enthusiastic and aspiring screenwriter. As she got approval for the production of her work as a series, Xiao Qian tried hard to convince a well-known actor to play the lead role of Han Shou, but he rejected her. She struggles with changing the script, as suggested by the director. While sleeping, Xiao Qian awoke to find herself trapped in a fantasy world herself created. She posed as Chen Qian Qian, the Third Princess, in the fictional world. According to the plot, Han Shou is supposed to murder her. She uses this knowledge to make an effort to survive and finds ways to come back to the real world.

The Feel-Good Part

The plot created a city called Huanyuan to show the superiority of women and to portray how women can lead a city. It has very female-centric ideas which pave the way to empower women. However, it also focuses on the notion of treating men with the same respect as women.

The Disappointing Factor

Chen Xiao Qian made the fictional world, but she was not able to cleverly navigate through as Chen Qian Qian as well as you would expect. This character trait will make you frustrated while watching. There are things in the drama that would not make sense but do not take them seriously.

In-Depth Analysis

The crazy ideas and plot holes would have been considered poor in terms of scriptwriting and editing in other dramas, but for this drama, it was on purpose, which added fun to the show. There are amusing misunderstandings and a tendency to conclude too quickly, which leads to even funnier moments that can make viewers laugh their asses off. Two cities with different gender-based ruling societies make for one of the drama’s most unusual settings. The drama does an excellent job of subtly advocating gender equality. Despite its complex plot, the ending was tied up nicely compared to the usual mainland romantic comedies, which tend to be straightforward. However, it also leaves room for a second season because they can explore the main characters’ relationship from where it ended.

Star Power

The chemistry between Ryan Ding (Han Shou) and Zhao Lu Si (Chen Xiao Qian/ Chen Qian Qian) was beautiful. They did a great job bringing the characters alive and close to the viewers’ hearts, providing them with great enjoyment.

Overall Opinion

The drama has skilfully balanced the elements of romance and humor, which will keep you entertained till the end. Do give it a try!
