Drama Digest

The show centres on two young men who were both drawn to the game Cross Fire and tells us about their battles to become professional players.

The Feel-Good Part

Although the series is not particularly comprehensive, it is enjoyable to watch. The use of modern tools and the primitive characters’ misunderstanding about their roles are the key reasons you enjoy this programme so much.

The Disappointing Factor

Because this drama has a time travel element, this section is not entirely realistic. Many times, we must fill in the blanks ourselves because they are not expressly explained. The VR portion is also a bit ludicrous, and while it advances the plot, you’ll find it strange and a stretch.

In-Depth Analysis

Xiao Feng is a depressed e-sports team leader in 2008, barely holding his squad together. E-sports is still in its infancy, with little money to be made. Xiao Feng’s squad is mocked and insulted, yet they refuse to give up on their aspirations. Lu Xiao Bei is a brilliant player and a mastermind in the same game in 2019. In actuality, he is a wheelchair-bound young guy. He promised to carry on his brother’s legacy by becoming a competitive e-sports player, but he misses out on the opportunity to join a professional squad. Despite the fact that they were 11 years apart in age, a cosmic bug allowed them to meet in the same game and transcend space and time. They build their own teams and help one other grow in life and as athletes to reach their goals, moving from a place of mutual hostility to one of brotherhood.

Star Power

The drama began with the introduction of the two male characters, Xiao Feng and Lu Xiaobei, who appeared to be from different timelines. But it’s not long before you find they’re linked by a game called Cross Fire, which allows them to speak with one another. From then, their story began to unfold, revealing a story about chasing aspirations, being young, and also about friendship.

Overall Opinion

The trailer merely reveals that this story is about esports with a dash of time travel thrown in for good measure. But what this drama seldom tells you is that it contains a mystery aspect, a strong friendship element, and even a touch of romance, all of which are really rewarding.
