Drama Digest

Susumu Takamiya is a wage worker. He who is employed by an insurance company’s audit division. His employment requires him to do one-day business excursions across the entire nation on the Shinkansen train.

The Feel-Good Part

There isn’t much to the plot other than sporadic periods where we learn about the main character’s work experiences. This show is primarily about food and his quest to appreciate every bite. The director simply wanted to show us that aspect of ML’s life. One aspect that sets this drama apart from other cooking programmes is the inclusion of alcoholic accoutrements with each meal. Considered it very significant that throughout the brief time of his usual train excursion, the protagonist delighted in seeking out and enjoying local specialties. We who work are typically extremely busy. The main goal of this programme is to help you learn to appreciate the little things in life. It also looks at how making small changes to your daily routine may help it become more enjoyable and meaningful.

The Disappointing Factor

There isn’t much to the plot other than sporadic periods where we learn about the main character’s work experiences.

In-Depth Analysis

Susumu Takamiya works for a living. He who works for an insurance company’s audit department. As part of his job, he takes one-day business travels on the Shinkansen across the entire nation. He enjoys finding good cuisine nearby when he travels for business and ordering it to go. He consumes the meals he purchased while travelling back on the Shinkansen train. To him, the train resembles an izakaya, a place to unwind with delectable food and beverages.

Star Power

The main lead’s work experiences are occasionally mentioned in the novel, but there isn’t much else to it. The focus of this show is primarily on food and his quest to appreciate every taste. The director apparently just wanted to show us that aspect of ML’s life. The use of alcoholic accompaniments with each meal sets this play apart from other cooking programmes. You can view a single episode whenever you want to because this programme is episodic. It makes even bland food more appealing, so would like to suggest watching it while eating. You might  often become hungry after watching culinary shows.

Overall Opinion

Overall, found it quite relevant how the protagonist took pleasure in looking for and eating regional specialties within the little duration of his regular train ride. Most of the time, those of us who work are busy. Finding delight in the little things is the focus of this programme, which also explores how making modest adjustments to your daily routine may make it less tedious and more meaningful.
