Drama Digest

This special episode depicts what follows after the actual show ‘Word of Honor’ concludes.

The Feel Good Part

The opening of the armory is the right end to the big plot, demonstrating that there is no quick way to take the world and that the armory is nothing more than a library and a food storage facility. Dramas that feature a “central mystery” frequently over-or under-deliver on the reveal. Word of Honor gets it right.

The production staff did an excellent job sticking to the script and delivering a simple love story. You have two difficult men who are both lost in their ways but have found their way back to each other through each other. From Gu Xiang and Cao Weining’s puppy love to Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing’s pure affection for the Beauty Ghost and Yu Qiufeng’s sad former affair to whatever twisted thing “Prince” Xie and Zhao Jing have going on, you have examples of the love of all types.

The Disappointing Factor

The epilogue runs for 7–10 minutes only. It is undoubtedly an excellent conclusion to the story, but it may be perplexing to some viewers. For example, the epilogue does not show how Wen Kexing survived since his hair turned white, and he’s supposed to die of broken meridians instead of just showing him and Zhou Zishu together.

In-Depth Analysis

The first 36 chapters were well-crafted, so you know not to miss this one! This epilogue ends the series and answers all the questions and confusion. After we last saw Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu in the armory, this short episode explains what happened to them. Gao Xiao Lian’s family is also shown. Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu have a pleasant ending to the series. It’s wonderful to see them reunited and retiring from Jianghu to educate the future pupils of the reconstructed four-season mansion.

In the previous episode, Gao Xiao Lian summons everyone to supper, and Deng Kuan (her husband) arrives to get their child for dinner with their mother. The student is practicing 18 Qiuming steps that only Wen Kexing is aware of, implying that he is learning from Wen Kexing. Zhou Zishu appears to tutor him, and Wen Kexing appears to disagree with his teaching methods, as he frequently does. Finally, Deng Kuan whisks his befuddled son away, proclaiming that they have been battling like this their entire lives and are now immortals. Chengling has reconstructed the manor near the Ice Mountains in chapter 36. As a result, they all live in the same area. It’s wonderful that their three-person family is still intact.

Star Power

Since the episode is not long, there is no special star power. Nevertheless, Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu have incredibly deep personalities and rich character development. The epilogue also shows the emotional insight and growth of both the characters.

Overall Opinion

Word of Honor is a beautiful show with amazing characters and a well-deserved ending. Worth shedding a tear after this episode.
