Drama Digest

Hae Won is an ordinary woman with a lovely heart. She has been playing the cello since she was a child, and it was through this instrument that she began her social life. During that period, however, she was emotionally mistreated by those around her. As a result, she chose not to become close to people or trust them. She returns to her homeland, Bokhyun Village, after growing dissatisfied of life in Seoul. There, she meets Eun Seob, who owns and runs the “Goodnight Bookstore.” He gets up, has coffee, reads a book, and writes a blog every day. When he meets Hae Won, his life slowly begins to change.

The Feel-Good Part

It’s a slow-burning romance with excellent writing. During the winter and early spring, one will be lured to life in the little town. Even if it starts off a little slow, it gets increasingly exciting to see what happens to these characters as the story progresses. Hae Won is cold and emotional, yet she is a lovable character, and you will connect with her even if you don’t agree with her decisions. Eun Seob’s character has an awkward vulnerability that makes you fall for him.

The Disappointing Factor

Domestic violence was covered over in the show, and the abuser was given a pass. He was not exposed and pretended to be a socially acceptable man. It gave the impression that Hae Won was to blame. I believe it might have made a statement about how society rarely stands with victims and instead prefers to keep quiet about the abuser. The main pair was entertaining to see, but domestic abuse tended to overpower their romance.

In-Depth Analysis

The audience will be captivated by this drama’s exquisite story telling. It follows Hae Won and Eun Seob’s recovery, which is inspiring and endearing to see, especially in these cruel times. Despite the fact that their meeting was just coincidental, it appears to be fated. Through flashbacks, the audience is provided insight into their situation. The soundtracks utilised in the drama wonderfully fit the storyline and bring out the emotions even more.

Star Power

Park Min Young (Mok Hae Won) and Seo Kang Joon (Im Eun Seob) had fantastic chemistry and were an excellent combination for the drama. They did an excellent job of conveying the characters’ sweetness, awkwardness, and tension.

Overall Opinion

If you prefer slow-burn romances, this is well worth your time. It’s best defined as a love story with healing and forgiveness.
