More information about the plot is missing so that the tale appears fair. Some of the riddles and killings were overly basic, with forced reasoning. The female lead’s fiery demeanour was sometimes too much for the plot. Although the ending seemed illogical, the story was left in the middle to be continued in the following installment.

With its sound effects, settings, and costumes, the drama adapted from the novel Tui Guan Jun Wu Jiu, brilliantly protagonizes us with the historical Chinese theme. The attention to detail is evident with the flawless make-up. The martial arts choreography was spot on and complemented the wuxia theme perfectly. Jun Wujui is physically weak and lacks martial arts knowledge, but he is by far the sharpest and quirkiest, as one would expect from a genius investigator. The drama conveys what it wants to precisely, allowing the storyline to unfold naturally.
Star Power
Even though the star cast leads, Li Xi Zi, Yang Fuyu, Run Chen, and Zhu Rong Jun are not well-known, they manage to pull the program off and make us fall in love with the drama. It had many supporting characters who played different roles as the mysteries unfolded.
Overall Opinion
It’s a murder mystery with a lot of unexpected twists and turns. It offers an excellent historical romance plot coupled with suspense and intrigue. It is enthralling and thrilling to observe how love blossoms in the hearts of opposed characters while solving detective cases. Overall, it’s an entertaining watch.
