Drama Digest:

It is said that if a Doppelganger sees his or her other self, bad luck will result. However, people’s misery is actually the result of selfish ambitions and greed. Two strangers who are not related by blood but who share a striking resemblance in appearance connect through the website “people are similar,” and they have been mysteriously influencing one other’s life paths ever since.

The Feel-Good Part:

Light-hearted watch for easing the day.

The Disappointing Factor:

Joe and Roxanne’s chemistry was poor.

In-Depth Analysis:

Two total strangers who resemble twins were able to connect thanks to a “doppelgangers” website. Ko Sau-shing, a law firm partner, finds his long-lost ex-girlfriend Yu Fung online, and discovers that Yu Fung is looking for a part-time boyfriend that resembles him. Mo Kei-nam, a candidate who is an exact replica of Sau-shing, is approached by Sau-shing at random. The two secretly decide to switch identities for a period of two weeks. Each and every situation in the legal company is handled by deadbeat Kei-nam, who plays the part of Sau-shing, Yu Fung’s “substitute lover,” while also interacting with his wife Lee Chi-ying and father-in-law Lee Kwun-hang. This pair of lookalikes are eventually astonished to discover their shared life trajectories are already different from their expectations as the time for identity shifting approaches.

Star Power:

Partner of a law company Shoucheng (Joe Ma) meets Wu Qinan (Joe Ma), who resembles him exactly. The two decide to switch places for two weeks in secret. As Yu Feng’s “love replacement,” Shoucheng will take over. While navigating the relationships with the wife (Alice Chan), the father-in-law (David Chiang), and every difficulty the legal firm has, Qinan, a minor character who has failed in life, must pretend to be Shoucheng. Joe performed really well as per the script.

Overall Opinion:

So, the lighthearted story with a twist was pretty enjoyable. It’s simple to watch and amusing at times. Joe Ma also did a great job in both of his positions. He plays two roles, and the exchanges between them flow naturally.
