Drama Digests
The drama is about a shopaholic, Gao Yang, who goes on the offensive after losing everything overnight. It is centred around the competition between shopping malls and internet retailers. Gao Yang recognizes her shortcomings and strives hard to evolve into a better person.
The Feel-Good Part
Some mysterious occurrences surrounded her father, leaving everyone in the audience guessing until the end. Xiao Zai is a witty, down-to-earth, and supportive buddy. The most memorable parts of this drama were Gao Yang’s moments of self-discovery and interactions with supporting characters. Other supportive characters were also pretty endearing.
The Disappointing Factor
Most of the time, the male lead character is oppressive and overbearing. The first ten episodes are exceptionally pleasant, but they dragged out the episodes so much that the drama becomes tiresome towards the end.
In-depth Analysis
Gao Yang was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Her privileged upbringing allowed her the opportunity to buy everything she wished for, which fueled her obsessive shopping addiction. When her father’s business fails, Gao Yang is forced to face the truth that her identity, self-worth, and friendships are all closely related to her wealth. At this point, she meets Yan Li, the nephew of her father’s helper, and enlists his assistance. She seeks employment on her own and works diligently and consistently. She has a kind heart, is not vindictive, and matures rapidly. Yan Li’s persona is initially gruff and frigid but eventually becomes friendly and loving. Despite their opposite characteristics, a spark of passion emerges between Gao Yang and Yan Li. There was a romance between the main protagonists, Gao Yang and Yan Li, but there was also another cute couple.
Star Power
This is a humorous modern Chinese drama series helmed by Peng Xue Jun that starred Zoey Meng as the joyful main heroine Gao Yang Sunny Wang as Yan Li, Li Shen as Li Ming Che, and Lu Chen as Ye Ming Lang. Gao Yang is pretty and very cheerful personality.
Overall Opinion
The scenery is usually stunning, as are their lifestyles. Themes such as business, finance, and power battles are growing stale. The first episode of the drama is compelling, yet there is still room for improvement towards the end.
