Drama Digest

Aired from 28th February 2020 to 17th April 2020, Club Sapan Fine (คลับสะพานฟาย) is a Thai drama spanning eight episodes of thirty minutes each. It revolves around a group of people with life problems who decide to come and live together, unravelling a lot of chaos into each other’s lives. The house partners volunteer as clowns, bearing their intriguing back stories in mind.

The Feel-Good Part

Through Club Sapan Fine, one gets familiar with the various nuances in a relationship and how folks accommodate living under a single roof. The story includes the dramatic happenings of college-going students, spinning a web of flavorful and toothsome anecdotes. And the spot-on comedy and light-hearted romance can easily throw away their sadness in a day.

The Disappointing Factor

Since the drama contains only eight episodes, fans require a new season, whose filming is in the talk without a release date in sight. The shortage of chapters gives it less time for the screenwriters to expand on the gripping past life events of the characters. Not only that, but it also hardens their job to show significant character development.

In-Depth Analysis

One of the main reasons for the popularity of Club Sapan Fine in both Thailand and worldwide is the integration of LGBTQIA+ characters into the drama. It authentically portrays queer relationships, hardships, and the path to acceptance in a highly queerphobic and homophobic society. Not only the characters but the representation of these roles fit the best. The actors playing the queer roles themselves belong to the LGBTIAQ+ community.

Star Power

In eight-long episodes, we are introduced to several characters with quirky traits. The cast includes Ae Maneerat Kam-Uan as In, Max Nuttawut Jenmana as Bum, Tonhorm Sakuntala Teinpairoj as Anging, TOy Pathomopong Reonchaidee as Chang, Belle Kemisara Paladesh as Munoi, Frame Supakchaya Sukhbaiyen as Chokpink, Babymild Saruda Kiatwarawut as Mamiao, Pingpong Thongchai Thongkanthom as Pom, Ben Benjamin Varney as Rang, Tay Tawan Vihokratana as Pae, Jan Jetsupa Kruetang as Kim, Gun Attahphan Phunsawat as Ko, Oab Oabnithi Wiwattanawarang as Ang, Proy Manasaporn Chanchalerm as Deko, Janis Janistar Phomphadungcheep as Petch, Best Nathasit Kotimanuswanich as Pete, Ployphach Phatchatorn Thanawat as Phloi, Jomjam Suphitcha Subannaphong as Bew, Big Thongpoom Siripipat as Cho, Aun Witay, Wasukraipaisarn as Maek, and Too Sirat Intarachote as Che.
