The Feel-good Part

The story follows a modern writer who ends up in her creation due to tampering issues. After getting an ultimatum of either entering the palace for 100 days or getting eliminated from everywhere, she fears the consequences. It created many fun and enjoyable moments in the beginning. The female lead character is courageous and intelligent with strong willpower to face the problems through her witty words, which becomes a highlight to watch in this series. It is a light-hearted drama that can relieve the audience of their tensions and have an enjoyable time. Even with the bite-sized episodes, the show is well paced, and progressions seem easy to digest. The script and plot management was flawless. The romantic and comedic aspects portrayed in this show got brilliantly carried out. The actors portraying the lead characters gave a commendable performance with a supporting cast helping out decently. The background sets and good low production value also elevate the experience.

The Disappointing Factor

The show provides many fun elements but also lacks terms of its subtle ending, which was hard to understand. Even though it entertains the audience, the idea isn’t deep enough to connect with on emotional levels.

In-Depth Analysis

The show follows an online novelist who writes about the inner workings of the dangerous palace. But the audiences didn’t appreciate a supporting character in this novel, which was for just a few parts. However, the novelist got somehow electrified and time-travelled into the story, and she becomes the supporting female character that has gained some hatred. Soon she has to navigate the palace court drama herself and try to stay alive throughout the novel to get back to reality. She has to follow the storyline perfectly without changing anything or facing death in the book and real life. It contains a sweet romance, royalty, drama, jealousy, betrayals, comedy, and friendships throughout the show.

Star Power

The director and screenwriter of this show are Li Hong Yu and Li Zhong Teng. Zhang Miao Yi plays the role of Yan Yi Yi, Jin Xian Zheng portrays the character of Qin Yu, Zhao Yi Yang plays Niu De Yi, Zhao Si plays Princess Ping Le, and Tao Hao plays Li Zhi Duo in this series.

Overall Opinion

The show is a decent drama that provides a light-hearted story with engaging and enjoyable characters that will bring chuckling times. The show certainly has some potential to keep the audience entertained till its end. Even though it is similar to other Chinese dramas, this show got recommended with an open mind.
