Drama Digest

This drama is a story about Tan Ling Yin and Tang Tian Yaun. Ling Yin is the daughter of a wealthy family, and Tian Yaun is known for his excellent family background and for being well-mannered and handsome. Both of our leads get entangled with each other. They start their journey with a tension between them, but as the story progresses, they put their differences aside and solve a case together.

The Feel Good Part

This drama is full of historical romance and comedy. The story is that both our main leads go about solving various cases, and along the way, they start to rely on each other and slowly love each other. The care and concern for each other increase when our female lead, Ling Yin, finds out Tian Yaun is her childhood idol. The drama shows us that both the main leads care for each other even after starting a bitter relationship. Tian Yaun always pushes his love to be a better advisor and never uses her. There is a high focus on how much women used to suffer during those times. They especially showed how much they had to go through to be respectful in their work area and gain recognition.

The Disappointing Part

The drama is set in historical background, and when you use history as your plot drama, you need to make sure it is correct. Many scenes wrongly interpreted history. Some actors happened to be very intelligent in history but were portrayed to be dumb as they couldn’t guess even the most obvious clues. The scenes when the cases were being solved seemed a bit boring. The focus of the cases was sidelined if any character faced personal issues. When we watch crime dramas, we expect the villain to be evil and cunning, but the villain was not even near to it in this drama.

In-Depth Analysis

This drama has light drama and much comedy. Many viewers tend to skip the introduction clip of the dramas, but the introduction clip of this drama has a gorgeous song that will relax your mind and soothe your ears. How this drama portrays women in those times holds a big part of the drama. The way our female lead, Ling Yin, went on to become a writer even after knowing that people of those times did not accept it. The character of the woman dancer also showed us the fierce nature of women. She wanted to pursue martial arts, which was not permitted for females during those times. So, she turned herself into a ruthless man. It portrayed the strong identity of a woman. This drama is good to watch if you hope to relax.

Star Power

The actors were all very lovable. The fact that none of the main leads had any evil intentions towards anyone was an excellent touch to the plot. The thing that will attract the viewers’ attention most would be their loyalty to each other. There were times when their love for each other was challenged, but the trust they had for each other never wavered. There was romance, brotherly love, and fights, all of them were very well displayed by all the actors, and they did justice to the script.

Overall Opinion

This drama, as said before, is light entertainment. It is more than one time watchable for a selective audience. The script was very well organized and didn’t have any unwanted subplots. The acting and music were also excellent. It would be a good pick for a relaxing family night.
