Drama Digest:
The drama is based on a vicious general Chu Xiu Ming and an unfavored daughter Shen Jin, of a royal family concubine. When the emperor decrees an arranged marriage for her, she weds to the general of the country named general Chu. Although she falls in love with him, it is difficult for her to win the heart of his spouse’s family. In the meantime, the country faces danger, resulting in her spouse and her family being hostages. Can she overcome this obstacle and find happiness? Watch the drama to know how the story unravels.
The Feel-Good Part:
The chemistry between the leads is top-notch. Ceaser Wu as General Chu is very capable and tough, but as Shen Jin’s husband, he is super sweet. This makes the character more realistic. The story progresses at a good pace. Viewers neither get bored nor feel rushed. There is a perfect balance in the story. The presentation of a strong female lead is one of the positive factors of this drama. Their kissing scenes also get better as the story continues. The drama has beautiful OSTs that will touch your heart.
Star Power:
Tang Min as Shen Jin, Ceaser Wu as General Chu Xiu Min have performed well. Ceaser Wu and Tang Min gave a hundred per cent to their roles. Tang Min doesn’t disappoint us in her role.
The Disappointing Factor:
At the end of the drama, sometimes the plot is boring. There are some inconsistencies between scenes, but it won’t reduce the joy of watching the drama. Another factor is some viewers might feel the female lead is annoying sometimes, but her childish behavior is also adorable to watch. The two other sisters of Shen Jin might get on the viewer’s nerve though they have a small screen presence.
In-Depth Analysis:
The drama shows a perfect balance between politics and romance. There are some palace politics which is very intriguing. Shen Jin is a courageous and proactive character. She is sensitive but not naïve. On the other hand, Chu Min is very capable in his work but very warm to his wife. He is very loyal to his wife. How they resolve their misunderstanding quickly is undoubtedly a relationship lesson. The second couple is also good to watch.
Overall Opinion:
Overall the drama is worth your time. The chemistry, OST, politics, and some steamy kiss scenes make this drama enjoyable. For those who love to watch historical drama with fluff, then this is a great choice.
