Drama Digest
This Chinese drama is the story of two twin sisters who get separated at a young age for certain reasons. The story happens years later, when both reunite, and unexpected events take place in their lives.
The Feel-Good Part
Song Wei Long was the major attraction of the drama. The acting was decent in some parts. The editing was good. The production value keeps one going through the drama.
The Disappointing Factor
There were a lot of disappointments throughout the drama. The acting was sloppy and inexpressive in many parts. The second female lead portrayed toxic behaviour. The female lead was toxic in some parts, too as she seemed to be forcing the male lead to love her back. The story is confusing, as the relationships among the characters are not adequately defined. Numerous side characters make the story even more confusing.
In-Depth Analysis
Nan Sheng and Qiao Man are identical twin sisters. They have been inseparable by birth. Everything they have done, they’ve done it together. They were the most important people in each other’s lives. But due to an unexpected event, both are forced to part ways. This event was their parents’ divorce. Due to the conflict between their parents, both are obligated to live separately. One of them is taken by the mother, while the other is taken by their father. This causes them to not meet for a very long time, and grow up separately and individually from one another. Even during this, both long to meet and reuniting with each other all the time. Coincidentally, a few years later, both end up being admitted to the same university. When they learn about it, things get really awkward between them. They do not know how to approach each other, and how to express how much they’ve missed each other. At that time, Nan Sheng is dating a guy named Lin He Ping and things get even more complicated when Qiao Man realizes she has fallen for her sister’s boyfriend too. As Heping is Nan’s boyfriend, Qiao knows that she can never confess to him. Things take a weird and painful turn after Nan Sheng commits suicide due to unknown reasons. Shocked by it, Qiao and Heping do not meet each other for a long time after that. One day, they end up meeting unexpectedly in Barcelona for work reasons. After realizing that she is still in love with her sister’s ex-boyfriend, she gets confused. She does not know what to do. She does not know if she should confess to her dead sister’s boyfriend or keep her feelings to herself. But after realizing that a lot of time has passed since the death of her sister, she decides to confess to Heping. While Heping is not interested in her, she keeps pursuing him. In the end, they get together, and everything ends up happy. This way, they decide to honor the memory of Nan Sheng.
Star Power
Song Wei Long, who plays Lin He Ping, the male protagonist, was a star, even before the show. A lot of audiences thought that they continued through the drama just because of Weilong. The reason being his good looks and deep acting skills.
Overall Opinion
The drama disappointed in many ways even though it was supposed to be an exaggerated melodrama. A lot of viewers were unhappy with the way it turned out. The story was supposed to go in the expected direction, but went downhill in some other direction. The story was confusing even after having a decent cast to act it out.
