Drama Digest
“My Bossy Wife” is a Chinese short drama. They set the story in the historical era. The story revolves around Lu Xiao Bai, who enters a marriage contract with Shen Jun Ye. He becomes the son-in-law of the Shen family and lives with her family. The couple initially had a hostile relationship, which later turned into a sweet one.
The Feel-Good Part
This is a pleasant show with great progress in the Romance. The couple’s interaction with each other and solving cases was interesting to watch. Although short, the story provides all the elements such as mystery, suspense, and romance as well. The Romance is sweet with an entertaining twist. It can be a good refreshment while taking a break from long dramas. The scene transition and pacing are decent.
The Disappointing Factor
The drama is short, and hence the story seems incomplete for a big plot. A 2nd season would cover up for it unless the first season had longer episodes. The couple’s relationship was still unresolved, and the story dropped halfway.
In-Depth Analysis
Lu Xiao Bai is a gambler of a low level. He can do any petty job for money. One day, he helps a local man flee from a scene and escape from his hometown. He gains money by doing so, but it turns out to be a fateful coincidence for him. The man fled from his marriage set with the town’s constable and the daughter of a powerful family, Shen Jun Ye. She has enormous strength and fighting abilities. She is aggressive and does not let incidents slide. After Lu Xiao Bai chased away her groom, she followed him and forces him to marry her to become the family’s servant. This had to be done as her mother was distraught by the failed marriage of her daughter. Lu Xiao Bai had no choice but to accept the offer. He tries to escape several times but could not succeed. Then once, Lu Xiao Bai helps Shen Jun Ye catch a wanted criminal, and then she realized that he has strong intelligence even though he cannot fight. The two solve crimes together and as they spend time, romance blooms.
Star Power
The cast is new faces but has shown great potential. The lead actor Ma Hao Dong and Shao Yun have done a remarkable job and proved their skills. They had great chemistry and made the show interesting.
Overall Opinion
It is a light-hearted and pleasant drama. As it is short, we can watch it when taking a break from long dramas. The story is sweet and fun and it will also expose you to new actors in the drama world.
