Celebrities, whether they want it or not, have the power to change opinions or form one. With a huge following, they are considered idols to put forth good behaviour and promote good ideologies. Celebrities all around the world have been actively participating in charitable works and giving back to society. Thai stars are also actively participating in philanthropic activities and giving back as much as they can. In this list, we discuss ten celebrities who have been actively participating in charity.

1. Mai Davika

Mai Davika is a top-rated actress with a successful career and going strong in the industry. She has been involved in philanthropic work for quite some time now. She is also a Friend of UNICEF and, in 2019, for her 27th birthday, she visited an Early Development Centre to promote child rights.

 

2. Phakin Khamwilaisak

Phakin 'Tono' Khamwilaisak is a TV actor, musician and reality tv star. He announced to swim 80 kilometres to raise awareness around plastic pollution in the sea. His campaign was named One Man and the Sea and aimed at raising funds for government-run wildlife centers that care for endangered species.

 

3. Artiwara "Toon" Kongmalai

Artiwara is a musician, rock star from the rock band Bodyslam. He has gained a name for himself as the national hero by raising funds to donate to hospitals. His campaign is aimed to raise money for hospitals to buy the proper equipment to provide better healthcare. He ran across Thailand, from the southernmost point to the northernmost point, to raise money. His project was named " Kao Kon La Kao" or "Each Of Our Step".  During this run, he raised 1.37 billion baht as a donation.

 

4. Porntip Bui Simon

Bui Simon is a former Miss Universe and an active philanthropist. She is the president and founder of Angel Wings Foundation. She has been decorated with coveted medals and honours such as the Thai Royal Medal of Honour, Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant and the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand. She was also named United Nations Goodwill Ambassador for Thailand. She addressed the UN General Assembly concerning the Convention of the Rights of the Child.

 

5. Nikhun Horvejkul

Nikhun from the popular K-pop boy band 2 PM became the ambassador of UNICEF in 2013 to promote the rights and wellbeing of young people in Thailand. Nikhun had also been involved in a DUI case after which he went to volunteer in a Buddhist Monastery for disabled children. He was also involved in a campaign in South Africa.

 

6. Paula Taylor

Paula Taylor is a model and actress. She was a Friend of UNICEF and had been involved in the campaign to promote the rights of young people in Thailand. The aim of the campaign that she was involved in was to bring public attention to the challenges faced by young people in Thailand. She also promoted breastfeeding and worked with kids from slums.

 

7. Zico Kiatisuk

Zico is a former football player and the head coach of the Thailand football team. He was a very famous player and was part of the 'Dream Team. He set up the Zico Foundation to provide equal opportunities for people in rural areas to develop football skills. He also worked with UNICEF to raise awareness about the challenges faced by children. He also worked with them to promote access to quality education for every child in Thailand.

 

8. Peach Pachara

Peach is a popular actor and musician. He is part of the rock band Rooftop and has also worked in successful dramas and movies. He is also known for his acts of kindness and philanthropy. He has been engaged in philanthropy around patients in hospitals. He was also named as the Friend to UNICEF to promote child rights.

 

9. Ann Thongprasom

Ann is a famous actress who has been involved in quite some charities. She was also named as the youth ambassador by UNICEF.  For her first mission as the ambassador, she visited several UNICEF supported projects where she met children of ethnic minority communities, including stateless children and children with AIDS.

 

10. Cherman Boonyasak

Cherman or better known as Ploy is a popular actress and model. She was involved with the UN Refugee agency for their campaign around World Refugee Day. She was joined by Khaled Hosseini, Kat Graham and other celebrities around the world.
