In recent years, the k-pop industry has taken over the world, and rightfully so. Whether it's the pop songs, the funky music videos, or the graceful artists themselves, we all have at least one favorite song that makes our hips move. There are quite a few well-known k-pop artists in India that have a massive influence on the country. Some of these artists are mentioned in the list below:
1. BTS
It should be no surprise that BTS is one of the most famous artists in India. The group consists of 7 charming and talented members. Kim Taehyung, Jeon Jungkook, Park Jimin, and Kim Seokjin are the vocalists, while Min Yoongi, Kim Namjoon, and Jung Hoseok are the rappers of the successful group. All the members of the group have more than 30 million followers worldwide. The BTS fans are called Army. The motto of the k-pop group is to spread love among others as well as to love oneself.
2. Blackpink
Another famous k-pop group is Blackpink. The group consists of 4 graceful members, Kim Jennie, Lalisa Manobal, Roseanne Park, and Kim Ji Soo. Lisa is from Thailand but grew up pursuing her career as a k-pop idol. She is the youngest in the group, whereas Ji Soo is the oldest. The South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment is one of the most successful groups worldwide.
3. EXO
Exo is a famous South Korean-Chinese boy band. The group initially consisted of 12 members but was later divided into two sub-groups, EXO-K and EXO-M. The renowned boy band is known for producing music in several languages like Korean, Chinese and Japanese. Their first studio album XOXO sold over a million copies, making them the first k-pop group to do so in twelve years.
4. Twice
The girl group 'Twice' was formed by JYP Entertainment. Twice is a South Korean k-pop group consisting of 9 members. The members are Momo, Nayeon, Sana, Jihyo, Jeongyeon, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu. The group's single 'Cheer up' became one of their most well-known songs and also won 'Song of the Year at the Melon Awards.
5. Seventeen
Seventeen is a South-Korean-based boy band formed by Pledis Entertainment. The group consists of thirteen talented members. The members include Dino, Vernon, Seungkwan, Mingyu, The8, Woozi, Wonwoo, Jun, Hoshi, Joshua, Jeonghan, and S.Coups. All the members are talented and choreograph and write many of their songs themselves.
6. GOT7
GOT7 is a Korean boy band composed of 7 members. The seven talented members, Jay B, Mark, Jackson, Bambam, Yugyeom, Jinyoung, and Youngjae, debuted in January 2014. Their live performances also include martial arts tricking and street dancing, making them quite renowned worldwide.
7. NCT127
Another famous boy band loved and adored by many Indians is NCT127. The group debuted in July 2016, formed and managed by SM Entertainment. Their single 'Cherry Bomb' gained a lot of popularity, followed by their first studio album. The renowned boy band has also released music in Japanese.
8. TXT
TXT, aka Tomorrow X Together, is a boy band of five members formed by Big Hit Music. The five members, Yeonjun, Soobin, Taehyun, Beomgyu, and HueningKai, are talented and charismatic artists. The group debuted in 2019 and has won many prestigious titles like Rookie of the Year at the 34th Golden Disc Awards and the 2019 Melon Music Awards. Their well-known songs include crown, magic, blue hour, etc.
9. Shinee
Debuting in 2008, the boy band Shinee had a massive influence in their Native country. The group consists of 4 members Onew, Minho, Key, and Taemin. The influential group is loved by many and secured the title of "Princes of k-pop." Shinee is considered one of the best live vocal groups.
10. Mamamoo
Mamamoo is a well-known South Korean girl group formed by RBW. The group consists of four members Hwasa, Moonbyul, Solar, and Wheein. Their official debut single 'Mr. Ambiguous' is considered to be one of the best debuts of 2014. Mamamoo also released the original soundtrack for the Korean drama, Marriage, Not Dating.
