He joined YG Entertainment in 2011 and debuted as the leader of iKON in 2015 under YG Entertainment. On June 12, 2019, he was accused of attempting to illegally purchase drugs in 2016. In 2019, YG announced his scandal and B.I decided to leave the group. In February 2020, it was reported by the police that he had tested negative for drug usage. The manager of Lee Jong Hyuk told him a complete lie about his mother (the manager) getting diagnosed with cancer. Lee gave his manager the money, feeling bad for him. He scammed six other actors working at the same agency. Eventually, in 2013, he was caught and was declared a fraud.
