The popularity of Korean music and dramas is growing at a rapid pace and this entertainment industry is garnering fans from all over the world. We get to see our favorite celebrities a lot on-screen, but it would not be wrong to say that what we see onscreen is not always the truth or that reality can be different from reel life. We may see an actor expertly driving a car on screen but in reality, they might not know how to do that. You would be surprised to know how many of your favorite actors and idols don’t know or like to drive cars. So, here is a list of Korean celebrities who don’t drive for various reasons:
1. Kim Namjoon
If you are even a little bit into K-pop then you will definitely know that RM, leader of BTS, does not have a driver’s license and therefore, can’t drive. In different interviews from time to time, he has admitted that he is the only group member who can’t drive and has expressed his wish to get a driver’s license someday.
2. Lee Min-Ho
Born in 1987, Lee Min-Ho is an actor, singer, director, model, and businessman. We have often seen him in the role of a multimillionaire businessman who travels in big cars but ironically, he doesn’t know how to drive in real life. Owing to this reason, he doesn’t hold a driver’s license either.
3. Lisa
Lalisa Manoban, better known as Lisa, is the main dancer of the popular K-pop girl band Black Pink. She knows how to drive but is not very skilled and usually drives cautiously at a very slow speed. Apart from this, the group’s contract with YG Entertainment prohibits the members from driving vehicles.
4. Lee Kwang-Soo
Next on our list comes 1985-born actor, entertainer, and model, Lee Kwang-soo who has been a part of various popular shows and dramas. Speculation about him not being able to drive rose as he was never seen driving a car in any of his roles and later it was revealed that either he doesn’t know how to drive or simply doesn’t enjoy it.
5. Kim Ji-Soo
We all know her as Jisoo as the main vocalist of Black pink. The reason for her not being able to drive is their contract with YG Entertainment according to which they are prohibited from doing a lot of things, one of them being is driving.
6. Bang Min-Ah
Better known by her stage name Minah, Bang Min-Ah is the member of a popular band called Girl’s Day and even released her first solo in the year 2015. According to some reports she also can’t drive as she doesn’t hold a driver’s license and has already failed the driving test thrice.
7. Kim Jong-In
Next in our list comes another popular 1994-born K-pop singer Kai, who is a member of a boy band called EXO. During a video shoot, a member of the same band revealed that all the band members know how to drive a car except Kai.
8. Jennie Kim
Lead vocalist and rapper of Black Pink, Jennie makes her way to this list as she also falls under the same contract with their owner company YG Entertainments which prohibits all the band members from driving.
9. Ji Sung
He is an actor in his forties who has been a part of a lot of popular dramas and is a crowd favorite. In a conversation with Lee Se Young, who is a close friend of Ji Sung’s, she said that she usually drives Ji around as he still doesn’t know how to drive and doesn’t hold a driver’s license.
10. Roseanne Park
Mononymously known as Rose, she is of Korean and New Zealander descent and a part of Black Pink. Being one of the members of this group she, too, falls under the contract that prohibits all the band members from driving, and hence, she also can’t drive.
