In this drama, we follow Kotoko Aihara, a brilliant and cheerful high school student. She is a bright young woman and is very kind and bubbly however she is not good at studying. She soon develops a crush on the most intelligent student at her school, Naoki Irie. Irie is cold and has an antisocial personality. When Kotoko decides to confess to Irie, she is shot down.

2. Midnight Diner

There is a peculiar diner that is open through odd hours of the night. A strange person called the Master runs this mysterious diner. The diner provides a haven to several people. Customers flock to this restaurant to find comfort and warmth. They depend on the chef not only for good food but also for advice. Each episode focuses on different people and various philosophical problems.

3. From Five To Nine  

In this drama, we follow Junko Sakuraba, a hard-working woman with an ordinary nine-to-five job. She works as an English conversation teacher and has dreams about moving away from Japan and living in New York. To achieve her aspirations Junko works incredibly hard. She has not dated anyone in a long time. One day Junko goes to a temple to attend a funeral where she bumps into Takane, a monk at the temple. Later, Junko’s family decides to send her to a blind date. Junko unwillingly goes and soon discovers that the man she is on a blind date with is the monk from the temple.

4. Vanishing My First Love

We follow Aoki, a young ordinary high school student. He has developed a crush on a classmate named Mio Hashimoto. One day when Aoki borrows an eraser from Mio, he notices that a name was written on the eraser. It was the name of another classmate, Ida Kosuke. The name had a minor heart etched beside it. Aoki thus assumed that Mio had a crush on Ida. When Aoki tries to return the eraser, it falls and lands near Ida, who picks it up and notices his name. Ida assumes that Aoki likes him.

5. Eat And Sleep At Camp Alone 

In this drama, we follow Kento Oki and Nanako. Kento is a man who enjoys cooking and camping. He enjoys canned food and finds peace cooking while camping alone. Nanako likes camping as well; she enjoys cooking with natural ingredients. Nanako like Oki enjoys camping and cooking alone. They meet different people in their camps and soon develop a more profound interest and bond with food.

6. First Love 

While growing up together in the 2000s, Yae Noguchi and Harumichi Namiki are two people drawn to each other. A close bond develops between them both, and they fall in love. Yae wants to be a flight attendant however her dreams never become a reality. Namiki desires to become an Air Defence Force pilot but soon quits his job.

7. The Makanai: Cooking For The Maiko House 

This Japanese drama is set in Kyoto, in the Hanamachi district where geisha live and work. We follow Kiyo Nozuki and Sumire Herai. They are two friends who move to Kyoto to become maiko. They desire to become an apprentice geisha. Kiyo has yet to achieve this aspiration. She doesn't have the skill to become a maiko but is skilled in cooking. She thus cooks for the girls in the house. In contrast Sumire has become a maiko and works to become a geisha. The two friends are very close and depend on the other for support and companionship.

8. On A Starry Night 

In this drama, we follow Suzu Yukimiya, a gynaecologist who used to work at a renowned hospital. However, after a lawsuit, she lost her job and opened a small clinic in a seaside town. She is lonely and often camps and drinks alone. One day while camping she runs into another person named Issei Hiiragi. They spend the night looking at the stars Issei does not speak to Suzu. They share a kiss.

9. Marriage Is Difficult For A Ninja

Hotaru Kusaki and Goro Kusakari are married to each other. They both seem to live mundane lives however both are hiding a secret. Hotaru during the day is an ordinary pharmacist. However, she is also a ninja and part of the Koka Ninja family. Her husband appears to be just a normal postal delivery man however he is also a ninja and part of the Iga Ninja family.

10. Don't Call It Mystery

We follow Totono Kuno, an intelligent young high school student. After a murder takes place in Kuno’s home, he becomes the prime suspect in the case. He is brought to the police station and interrogated. He becomes aware of certain clues in the case and the secret behind the death. A weapon containing his fingerprints is found at the scene.
