Anime has always had its fair share of flawed characters, whether they have been written that way or are just poorly executed. It has always been a debatable topic between anime fans as to which character takes the crown of being the most awful, but we can all agree that the characters in this list can take the crown whenever. So, here are the 10 worst anime characters of all time
1. Shou Tucker
Shou Tucker from Fullmetal Alchemist wins at being the worst character and the worst Dad of all time. A failing alchemist, he is desperate, delusional and selfish without any moral consciousness. At first, he might come off as an average, kind man but once the secret about his experiments is opened, the real evil can be seen.
2. Makoto Ito
Makoto Ito is the protagonist of School Days. He comes off as an average teenager till we start diving into his personality. He has some of the worst personality traits which include being indecisive, cheating on his girlfriends and running away from responsibilities. Throughout the show, he makes highly questionable choices and does not own up to his own mistakes.
3. Sakura Haruno
Sakura from Naruto might not be the worst character on this list. Unlike other characters, she wasn't written to be disliked but is still possibly one of the worst characters written. She is weak and constantly depends on Naruto. While there is nothing wrong with being weak, she has a personality that comes off as nasty and her constant simping for Sasuke even when he tried to kill her on multiple counts tells us a lot about her. Aside from that, she does seem to have some redeemable qualities. She tries her best to get better and is also one of the strongest female ninjas.
4. Akira Takaoka
Akira Takaoka is a character from the Assassination classroom. He is abusive and sadistic. He likes to feel powerful and does not shy away from hitting students to assert his dominance. He is an egoist and hates to lose to anyone. After he loses to Nagisa, he went insane and developed a plan to beat him.
5. Gabriel Miller
Gabriel Miller from Sword Art Online might be one of the characters to go up against Shou Tucker in the 'Who is Eviler' contest. Gabriel is charismatic, wicked and intelligent. He has a curious mind and is fascinated by the concept of the soul and where it resides. To quench his curiosity, he had gone as far as taking his fiancée's life.
6. Danzo Shimura
Another character from the Naruto universe that gets just as much hate as Sakura if not more. Danzo is a messed-up character with a marred sense of a moral compass. He thinks what he does is right for his village and his interference in the Uchiha massacre is a testament to his psyche. Other than that, his hand is also one of the reasons why he is detested.
7. Haruhi Suzumiya
Haruhi Suzumiya is the central character of the show The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Haruhi is an eccentric character with an interest in the supernatural. She also comes off as a bully as she forces people to do what she wants and meet all her expectations. She is not a very empathetic character and craves for grandiose. This sense of wanting something big makes her easily bored and might lead to the world's destruction. She is also very bossy and wants people to do what she wants.
8. Minoru Mineta
Minoru Mineta is one of the characters from My Hero Academia. He can be simply described by a single word – Pervert. He is the most perverse character I have seen alongside Jiraiya from Naruto. He has attempted to peak at his classmates of the opposite gender. He also seems to point out other people for their perverseness except his own.
9. Nina Einstein
Nina from Code Geass is a xenophobe who is racist against Elevens without context as to why. There might or might not be a reason for this. Also, she created a weapon of mass destruction that killed over 25 million people.
10. Rachel
Rachel from Tower of God is one of the most hated recent characters. In a group of extraordinary characters, she comes off as someone ordinary. She also lied about being handicapped to gain attention and sympathy while using Baam to climb the tower but pushed him off of it due to her jealousy which resulted in him almost losing his life.
