Frieren is a fantasy anime, unlike any other anime out there. It is seen forgoing a more traditional focus on combat and opting for a more personal story about adventures traveling together. This however doesn’t mean that there isn't any kind of action in it. All the Frieren characters feature their fair share of obstacles and show how strong they are in facing these dangerous situations. The strongest characters are not necessarily more experienced or the oldest. Some characters are strong as they work tirelessly at their crafts and develop their skills.
1. Himmel
Even though viewers didn’t see him in action a lot, he is known throughout the land as one of the greatest heroes of all time. Hummel is a noble warrior who would bravely charge into battle. He was one of the party members who helped in defeating the Demon King. He had flaws but he made up with his tenacity. He never lets any enemy get him down.
2. Stoltz
He was Stark’s elder brother and also the pride of their village. Stoltz as the village warrior was the only one of his peers who without getting a single drop of blood or dirt on his white uniform could fight multiple enemies. While fighting demons he stood his ground, bravely charging into the fray. His actions spoke for themselves when it came to how noble and powerful a warrior he was.
3. Aura The Guillotine
Aura has lived for a long time and has gained much more manna than any average demon. She uses this to trick her opponents into engaging with her so that she can enact her special spell and end up taking over their bodies. This enabled her to collect an army of puppets making her more deadly. She was a one-demon army who gave Frieren a run for her money.
4. Sein
Sein is a gifted priest who has healing magic. His magic is quite powerful and has been shown to heal even the deadliest of poisoning in just seconds. He has a strong constitution that can withstand curses that would otherwise incapacitate other magic-users. He is a prodigy who is disguised as a priest, who works to his advantage.
5. Fern
Fern is a powerful mage. Her constant practice and endless determination practice help her magic to be her second nature. She was also brought up learning magic from Frieren. She has an unflattering will in battle and never backs down from a challenge. She doesn't allow her true emotions to show. Her stoicism and powerful spells Jane made her one of the strongest characters.
6. Old Man Voll
He is an exceptionally aged dwarf. He guards the village that his wife loved with as much power and strength as he had in his prime. He is not only cunning, but he can also take down his enemies even at his age. It is seen that much of his strength lies in his dedication to his late wife’s memory. His strength comes from his desire to preserve his wife’s memory for as long as he can.
7. Lügner
He is a member of the demon contingent who gets sent to make peace with the human city. At first, he appears to be altruistic, but he is a powerful and conniving demon who is bent on destroying humanity. What makes him so dangerous and strong is that he weaponises his blood. He uses his ability to mercilessly taunt and maim his victims.
8. Eisen
Eisen, as a dwarf, already has a knack for being sturdy and strong. He survived many things that could kill a human instantly, which demonstrates his immense fortitude. His courage shows the strength of his fortitude. He is a strong dwarf who has the strength to overcome his fears and the challenges ahead.
9. Stark
He doesn’t believe he is strong because he is often afraid. His battle records however prove otherwise. He was known as a child to a weak person without a chance of becoming a warrior. However, when Eisen took him in, he learnt to adapt during the battle, as well as how he could put power behind each of his blows. His sturdiness surprised his enemies, allowing him to make devastating blows to his openers when it was the least expected.
10. Frieren
She is the mildest of all her traveling companions and has the most time to hone her skills and abilities. Her casting style has over the centuries changed, but the power behind each spell keeps on growing. She works smarter, which gives her an advantage over her opponents. She has learned a valuable lesson of when to use her strength and when she should reserve it.
