1. Jeff Chen

Jeff Chen is an actor known for his roles in “Kiss of The Rabbit God” and “Shanghai Soul.” Earlier this year, the actor was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Although the actor has been very open about it and has been relatively strong, the actor burst into tears during an interview with TVB on the 25th of August, 2021. When Jeff got first diagnosed, the doctors told him that the medicine only had a 40% working.

 

2. Yu Mo Lin

Veteran actress Yu Mo Lian was born in 1937, as Yu Chi-nga. You first started acting in the 1950s and have been credited with almost 145 movies since then. Late in 2020, the actress was diagnosed with Hematoma, a rare type of blood cancer. She had been kept in the Intensive Care Unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a while. Since her diagnosis, Yu Mo Lian has been in and out of severe conditions.

 

3. Ng Man-Tat

Ng Man-tat was an actor who shot to fame in the 1980s, drawing attention for his role in the television drama “Chor Lau-Heung.” The show was first broadcast in 1979. He was one of Hong Kong’s most legendary and prominent actors. Ng Man-tat passed at the age of 70 after battling out liver cancer. As per his friends and family, the veteran actor had died peacefully.

 

4. Jet Li

Born Li Lianjie in Beijing, China, Jet Li is a Chinese actor known for his expert martial arts skills and his roles as multiple heroes. Jet Li’s first film was “Shaolin Si.” In the movie, he plays a young man who goes to the famous Shaolin Temple to learn martial arts. In 2010 Li was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. In 2017, it got revealed. Although the actor took medicines for his illness, the condition wasn’t all that better.

 

5. Sammul Chan

Sammul Chan is an actor, singer, and disc jockey. He is known for his roles in “Survivor’s Law,” “The Academy,” and “Triumph in the Skies.” A medical check-up in 2018 revealed that the actor was missing a blood vessel in his brain. He was diagnosed with cerebrovascular disease. Chan’s condition is hereditary and incurable.

 

6. Ken Chu

Ken Chu is a Taiwanese singer, composer, and actor. His most notable role was in “Meteor Garden.” In late 2017, after the media ridiculed his weight gain, Ken revealed that the weight gain was due to medications for fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia is a syndrome that directs itself towards muscles and soft tissues and causes the patient to feel chronic fatigue, pain, and other issues. There is no cure for this syndrome, and Can only be tame till a certain point with medication.

 

7. Mandy Lam

Mandy Lam is a Hong-Kong based actress known for her roles in “Heroic Duo” and “Black Rose Academy.” She has previously won the title of “Miss Hong Kong.” After being diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer, the actress underwent electrotherapy, targeted therapy, and chemotherapy. As a result, Mandy suffered from side effects such as hair loss, discolored nails, and water retention. Today, the actress is free from cancer; she is still fearful of childbirth if the powerful hormones bring cancer back.

 

8. Xu Ting

Xu Ting (Kitty Xu Ting) was a Chinese actress and popular blogger with 300,000 followers. Her most famous on-screen appearances include “Lost in Macau” and “Dad Home.” The actress was diagnosed with lymphoma, a specific type of cancer affecting the immune system. Xu Ting had decided to go for traditional Chinese treatment instead of chemotherapy because she had seen friends suffer from the procedure and was bothered about the cost.

 

9. Christine Kuo

Christine Kuo is a Taiwanese actress known for her roles in “Natural Born Lovers” and “The Jade and The Pearl.” Christine had been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, which greatly affected her career status. The actress experienced a considerable cut down in her self-esteem and spent a lot of time crying.

 

10. Li Mingwei

Li Mingwei (Serena) was an “anti-cancer singer.” Serena was a member of Xiaolongfeng. In 2012, the singer was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma, one of the most malignant and rare types of cancer. Due to Li’s condition, she experienced damage to her vocal cords and nasal cavity. Later on, she even had facial paralysis. The singer had passed away in early 2021 after her long battle with her illness.
