Anime Digest

The story is set somewhere in the future where technology is so advanced that the whole solar system is colonized. Now an athletic tournament is conducted on a very large scale, named “Daiundoukai,” where females from all around the solar system come to compete with each other. The winner of the tournament is given the title of “Cosmo Beauty,” who is treated like a queen.

Kanata Akehoshi has been preparing for this tournament since she was a child because of a promise she made to someone. When the time comes, she wins the initial levels and then represents the Earth in this tournament. She attends the university satellite, where they train the competitors for the tournament. There, she makes many friends

and moves ahead in the competition. Along the way, she finds a whole different side to this tournament.

The Feel-Good Part

The only feel-good thing about this show is that it ended. Seriously, there is not a single thing good about this show.

The Disappointing Factor

The whole show is a big disappointment. The story is chaos. The plot has nothing, and the subplots are not at all interesting. The only way they solve things is through their so-called friendship, which, by the way, seems fake. The art and animation are average at best. The characters are not likable, and the whole show is just a mess.

In-Depth Analysis

The show follows Kanata Akehoshi, who participates in this tournament called Daiundoukai because when she was a child, she saw a spaceship-type thing coming down to earth and crashing near her house. When she went there, she saw a woman who was a little injured because of the crash. That woman makes her promise to participate in this tournament and win the title of “Cosmo Beauty,” and then disappears into thin air without any trace. Kanata then prepares for this tournament and wins the qualifying rounds, representing Earth. As she reaches her goal, she finds out a lot of hidden secrets about the tournament.

The show is a total waste of time. The synopsis sounds interesting, but the show is nowhere near as interesting as this. The show had a lot of potential if it could’ve just stuck to one thing, but the story is everywhere. The subplots are straight-up bad and fall short of making the story even a little bit more interesting. Another thing is the main character. She is way too much of a sunshine character. It is good to be that way, of course, but this one just irritates you to a level where you might consider dropping the show after the first episode. She is that unbearable, sunny character that just does things from the goodness of her heart and still manages to win. She appears to be a phony.

Star Power

The characters don’t have depth. They don’t deal with any extraordinary issues, which just makes the show bland. Then there is Kanata. She is the worst character made in anime history.

Overall Opinion

This show is a shambles. It is a mix of plots from all around us that goes nowhere. Don’t bother with this one. There is a better way to waste your time.
