You Yao is a Chinese anime that is also alternatively known as Are You Ok. The anime aired from July 2020 to September 2020. The anime’s plotline revolves mainly around the present imperial court, which has been seeking out foreigners with the intention to assign them various roles in alignment with their talent. This is done for the betterment and change of the present archaic civilization to create a new world. Then we are introduced to the titular character of Zuo Yun Qi, who is an influential dissident young master, and he pretends to be a foreigner to sneak into the imperial court. He assumes the identity of a foreigner, a spy, to save his father, but he gets caught by the landlord, who has an eye for recognizing such spies. This meeting sets off a series of mental and physical battles, often ending up as comedic battles. While battling, they prevent a dangerous conspiracy and also learn about another foreigner who has formed a solid alliance to build a new society and overthrow the present power. Thus, Zuo Yun Qi, along with his party, gets forced to participate in the battle.
The Feel-Good Part
You Yao is inclined more towards the humor genre, and it will surely tickle your funny bones. The series starts with lighthearted scenes, and as the story progresses, the storyline and characters develop beautifully, creating an exciting outcome on-screen. The animation is not out of the world, but it is not bad either and makes for a decent animation. The characters are very well-written with quality traits of their own.

Though the humor is great in this anime, it would be enjoyed the best if the viewers were familiar with Chinese pop culture.
