Anime Digest

APR, an abbreviation for Artists Republic Performers, is a four-member group, but not a normal boyband. It is made with brand-new AR technology. This is a virtual reality idol project group, where they perform virtually using this technology. They debuted back in 2016 under Avex Japan.

This show is basically like a documentary and shows their everyday lives. Their schedules, how they make music, and, more importantly, who they are in person. But this is not actually real-life-based, of course. It is just an anime, made in the form of a documentary.

The Feel-Good Part

It is a light show with nothing over the top. You can watch it to just feel relaxed because it is just a documentary kind of show that does not deal with complex problems. It just shows the day-to-day life of idols in anime form.

The Disappointing Factor

There is nothing such as a disappointing factor in the It is just a normal anime in the form of a documentary and not a typical idol anime. It is sort of behind the scenes for the music they make.

In-Depth Analysis

ARP Backstage Pass is an idol drama but not the typical idol anime. It shows the everyday lives of the band members of the group APR. It revolves around Hida, Reiji; Fujiwara, Leon; Koumoto, Daiya; and Kanou, Shinji, who in real life are also band members of the same group. The show shows how the group was formed, their schedules, and how they make music. As for the CGI, it is really exceptional and amazing. The way it changes to 3D when they perform is mind-blowing and very satisfying to watch. The characters are cute and very genuine. The whole point of the

drama is their music because, at the end of the day, it is an idol drama whose main part is their music. And, yes, they have done a fantastic job of giving us some bops. If you are into documentaries, you are going to love them.

Star Power

The characters are good and are like real idols. Well, basically they are, but they are all just fantastic. The supporting roles are also amazing. The voice acting is on the spot.

Overall Opinion

Overall, the drama is good. It is a documentary-based idol drama, which is a sort of backstage ticket that gives a dive into their everyday lives. If you like some real-life documentaries in anime form, you should consider watching this.
