Anime Digest
The anime is set in the 19th century. Sorrano is an introverted inventor who lives in a small rural town in Japan, and nothing is quite impossible for him. He has learned how to construct machinery of all kinds from various science journals since he has been intrigued by the development of steamships that could connect people over enormous distances since he was a little child. The opposite side of the moon is where he ultimately wants to arrive after sailing across the ocean and beyond the sky.
Kosame Ishikki, a competent but cowardly samurai, who was charged with controlling his unusual behavior, is floating alongside him. A huge vessel rescued them and transported them to Los Angeles just when all hope seemed to be lost. They decide to take part in the “Trans-America Wild Race” because they have no money and no other plans, giving Appare the chance to build their own car and Kosame the chance to spend the winnings to get back home. How far will their expedition take them in the face of competing racers and undiscovered obstacles in the wilderness?
The Feel-Good Part
The animation of this show is quite catchy. It is sort of unique because you haven’t seen it before, and the characters look intimidating. It is not just about the characters, but the whole setup, theme, and background, all of which are interesting to watch.
Another thing is the story. It is not just about the car race; there is so much more. There is a murder being planned. So apparently it is about trying to stay alive, winning the car race, getting the money, and going back to their home. The story is intriguing, and it keeps you engaged throughout the course of the show.
The Disappointing Factor
The characters are not very unique. They are the everyday anime characters that you can find in any show. There is the smart guy, a funny one, a girl, and two or more side characters with many supporting roles. These characters don’t bring anything new.
In-Depth Analysis
Appare-Ranman! is an adventure comedy anime. Appare Sorrano is an engineering genius who can build anything from scrap, both literally and figuratively. Kosame Ishikki is in charge of controlling him. But both of them get lost in the middle of the ocean when their shipment stops working. Thankfully, another shipment rescues them and drops them off in Los Angeles. From there, they need to get back to their home, but they don’t have the money. They get to know about a car racing competition, where the prize money is enough to get them back to their home. They build their own cars and participate in the competition.
The show has its flaws, but it is an interesting watch. The CGI is fantastic and compelling to watch, and the story is something that keeps you hooked till the very end. The whole show is very satisfying and funny. The comedy is amazing.
Star Power
Though the characters are a bit repetitive. They are all outstanding. Sorrano is very intelligent, and it is interesting to watch them make things out of nothing, but they are introverted. Kosame Ishikki is the funny guy, and his jokes are literally funny. The supporting roles are also good. The voice acting for all the characters is impressive.

Overall, the show is very good and intriguing to watch. If you are looking for a funny show with lots of adventure, you should consider giving this a try.
