Anime Digest

After the Great Civil War that destroyed the nation many years ago, Japan was split into two regions—Kansai and Kanto. A group of six Akudama in Kansai successfully complete tasks assigned to them by a mysterious black cat while avoiding arrest by the law enforcement agencies because if they are caught, they’ll be killed on sight. A civilian girl, however, who becomes interested in the Akudama way of life and witnesses their criminal tendencies, signals the beginning of a difficult and dangerous path.

The Feel-Good Part

The whole anime is amazing. Without wasting any time, it dives straight into the story. and the story is something you can look forward to. It is something new and truly fantastic. The best part is the execution. The story can be a little difficult to understand, but because of the perfect execution, it just blows your mind. It has good world-building. It doesn’t take some time to explain what the world is about, but as the show goes on, it makes things clear about how things work. Another thing is the character. Each character gets proper time for their development. This makes it easier to understand how complex a particular character is. All of this is done in just twelve episodes, and nothing feels left out.

The Disappointing Factor

Some people may find it a little fast-paced because it dives straight into the story, and in general, it is a bit fast-paced. But it completely works in the favor of the show. It is meant to be that way.

In-Depth Analysis

Akudama Drive is a sci-fi anime, set up in some sort of cyber world. It is a highly entertaining anime. Not even a minute is wasted; it is either showing us what the plot is or world-building. The world-building is a strong aspect of this show as it doesn’t particularly focus on it but still manages to make everything clear. As for the characters, all the seven main characters are capable of having their own separate shows. They are all just amazing. Six of them are morally grey and one is innocent, and all of them are too good.

The show has a thought-provoking story where the government wants to control its citizens through fear, and if you are caught as an Akudama, you will be executed on the spot. It has a plot that keeps you engaged till the end. In only twelve episodes, they managed to tell an intriguing story with fantastic characters and a captivating world. It has a unique plot that you will not find anywhere else.

Star Power

Every individual character is unique and has an appealing personality. All of them are completely different, and you will not find a particular trait of one character in another. But when they work together as Akudama, they are one. The voice acting is marvelous for all the characters.

Overall Opinion

It is an awe-inspiring show. They focused on every detail and executed it perfectly. If you are looking for a show in this genre, you should consider watching this.
