Drama Digest:

Three Meals a Day: Fishing Village 5 is a Korean variety show that mainly focuses on displaying the rich seafood of the Korean peninsula to the world. The cast stays at a remote inhabited island (Jukguldo-Gil) for three days a week. They show the life of a self-sufficient fisherman by collecting and cooking three meals per day all by themselves. They also entertain celebrity guests.

The Feel-Good Part:

This cooking variety show is therapeutic. Watching the cast members fishing in the sea is very calming. The show also increases our knowledge about the availability of seafood in the local area, recipes, and life skills which can come in handy in the future. The show has its charm. We also get to know the other side of the personality of the celebrity guests who appear on the show.

The Disappointing Factor:

Some might find the episodes lengthy. One should avoid watching this show if they cannot control their hunger after watching those yummy, mouth-watering dishes but still can’t help themselves.

In-Depth Analysis:

The cast is Cha Seung-won, Yoo Hae-jin, and Hojun Son. Cha Seung- won is a survival cook and is the head cook of the show. He is also called Cha chef. Yoo Hae-jin is the novice captain of the show. A true seaman, he takes responsibility for the three meals of the day. He is an expert in collecting fresh seafood. Hojun Son is the ‘veteran youngest’ who became a handmade master of the sea. He helps Hae-jin in harnessing the essentials. He also lends a hand to the Cha chef in preparing the dishes. Together they are set on spending a peaceful yet challenging day with lots of good food. They explore nature and the wide variety of seafood. Each of them appeals to the viewers. Their constant jokes and mischiefs make them a legendary trio. This time all the guests were compatible with the main cast. All seemed to enjoy each other’s company. Gong Hyo Jin, Lee Kwang Soo, and Lee Seo Jin won our hearts as guests. They gave more reason to watch this extraordinary show. The recipes were great. The cinematography was great as always. Whoever was responsible for the background music deserves a raise.

Star Power:

Perfect is the one word that suits the cast for this show. Seung won, Hae-jin and Hojun set the vibe for each episode and are hospitable to all guests. This season we see guests naturally jelling up with the cast and enjoying themselves.

Overall Opinion:

Everyone should watch this amazing show and experience the serotonin boost.
