The Secret Weapon is a Thai movie that was released in 2021. The movie tells the story of Joy, who is the daughter of an assassinated land marine. Her father was assassinated while on a mission. Joy, herself is a former soldier, she trains to be an assassin under ‘Project Busaba’ to serve the nation. The project trains tough girls to turn into assassins. After getting into the project she gets the code name ‘Busaba 029’. Things turn mysterious as she discovers suspicious deeds about her father and also ‘Project Busaba.’

The Feel-Good Part

The movie is truly unpredictable and will surprise you with its brilliant plot twists. For those of you who are a fan of plot twists and turns, this film is made just for you! The storyline is creative and well executed.

The Disappointing Factor

The plotline could have been better written as the context of the film is very creative and original. Also Spoiler Alert, The ending was truly disappointing and uncalled for, the bad ending was completely avoidable.

Very few movies are female-oriented, full credits to The Secret Weapon for introducing such a strong female-oriented movie in the entertainment industry. The female lead character of the movie is well-written and supported by good acting. The female character carries the entire film on her shoulders, which is truly commendable. The genre of suspense-revenge-action was well justified and you will truly feel for the characters doing the deeds. The direction of the movie was good with good narration and screenplay. The acting was good mostly, however, some of the actors did disappoint though. The sentimental emotion was well portrayed by the actors which will pull some of the heart’s strings.

Star Power

Mook Pichana Yoosuk plays the titular role of Busaba 029 and Joy. The supporting cast includes Ticha Wongtipkanon as Busaba 014 and Bird Wanchana Sawasdee as Maj. Gen. Phaendin, Napassakorn Midaim as Maj. Gen. Nakhom, and Grace Mahadumrongkul as River. Multifaceted Thai artist Peter Nopachai Chaiyanam is the screenwriter as well as the director of the movie, and also, Thanyanan Kuanuphong is the screenwriter. Phuttiphong Aroonpheng was in charge of the cinematography of the movie, while Arporn Meebangyang was in charge of the makeup department.

Overall Opinion

The Secret Weapon is a female-oriented action movie with a good plotline and acting. The plot twists and turns will surely keep you entwined and hooked to the movie. The film makes up for an interesting watch and is very much original. The LGBTQ element of the movie is quite creative and well portrayed in the movie, making it one
