Drama Digest

White and Black, the twins, lived most of their lives in different countries separated. The separation was due to their parents’ divorce. However, White returns to Thailand years later. He discovers that Black has been brutally attacked and is now in the hospital. Unable to bear the pain inflicted on his brother in silence, he suspects one of Black’s close friends—Sean, Gram, or Yok—betrayed him. White disguises himself as Black to find the culprit. Is it Sean who is so quiet, serious, and hard to read? Joyful and amiable Graham? Or was it a hot-blooded Yok who enjoys fighting?

The Feel-Good Part

This show discusses various societal issues. There are many cute and lovely scenes between the main characters bringing out the romantic side of the show.

The Disappointing Factor

The pace of the drama is slightly off. They completed the conclusion to the story in a rush manner.

In-Depth Analysis

Not Me is a daring and insightful drama about social activism disguised as an action thriller. On the surface, you’ll appreciate the suspenseful plot full of intrigue and adventure. The series delves deeper into justice, equality, and freedom. Black and White are aptly named as they symbolize a Yin and Yang concept that contradicts and complements one another. Not Me, however, loses momentum near the conclusion. The bizarre plot flies off the rails in the later episodes, with only the flawless acting to save it. Some of the concluding scenes feel rushed and sloppy, which is a step back from the tight narrative that began the film. Although the Not Me series is known as a BL, they address the societal issues in which the romance takes a back seat. This series’ cinematography is excellent, and many captured scenes are beautiful.

Star Power

All the cast have done a great job that elevated the narrative. When Gun Atthaphan Phunsawat had to play both White and Black, he was able to portray his true brilliance by giving each character a completely different personality.

Overall Opinion

It is a good show that focuses on various societal issues with the hint of some romance. Do give it a chance!
